compact pushchair for a newborn

I am looking for a truly lie flat compact pushchair for a newborn. (preferably 1 seat unit only) It also needs to be front an rear facing. DH likes Zapp extra but I feel its too unstable. Any recommendations appreciated.
Budget probably £200 to £300
Thank you

Why not go for a sling?
You could get a really nice mei tai baby hawk or wilkinet. Baby will be easier to settle more content and the slings above distribute weight better then structured slings. And dad can wear baby as well.
Check out the sling threads or look for a local sling library.

How compact and why? ie a car boot or do you need something slim to slide into a gap? Is there a reason for wanting a lie flat seat rather than a carrycot?
The Petite Star NJoy Bubble is an umbrella fold. The Mutsy Evo has a really small fold if you take the seat off the chassis (it can be folded on the chassis too though).
If you dont need a pushchair just yet, and dont mind a carrycot, then the new Babystyle Oyster Gem looks great for a compact folding pushchair.

Tiggy do you know when the gem is being released?

Thanks ladies. We have a large boot but with 2 older dc space will be more limited for holidays etc.
We have been given a pushchair with a hard carrycot which I like but realistically will be hard to fit in car with luggage etc.
Will also look into slings.

This thing that you want.. I want it too. The bee is the smallest lie flat rear facer that I know of, you could get a used one in your budget. I have my eye on this but it would have to be imported and I'm not sure how small it will actually be in reality. It all folds in 1 piece though, which is appealing with other DCs to deal with etc.
Umm the Njoy Bubble has already been mentioned. A mamas and papas Urbo is pretty compact but a 2 piece fold. Probably within budget though. Hmmm.

The Urbo folds with the seat on but only forward facing.

I'd say a second hand Bugaboo Bee+ would be your best bet.

It's a lovely buggy - the seat can easily be turned to face the other direction, and can then be folded in both directions too.

Graco Evo fits your bill but I don't know what the reviews are like. Secondhand Bee would be a good option as Kate says.

If it's only holidays when you have the space problem, would you consider clipping in a car seat (which you would be taking anyway) and using that instead of a carrycot? if so then that opens up more options.
