Smyth's Dimples Duo? Or something else.

DS2 will be 20 months when DC4 arrives so I think I'll definitely need a double especially as DC is due in November and I have 3 school runs a day.

I saw this double on the Smyth's website and it looks perfect but I'm worried about how sturdy it will be and think of my DDad's favourite saying, 'Buy cheap, buy twice!'

I don't walk too far apart from the school runs, no rough terrain really, just trips to the GP etc, into the City using the bus and occasional family days out.

I've also looked at the BDual and the Pear. I can't afford the Peach unfortunately and a side by side won't be any good.

I have a Dimples Duo, you have hit the nail on the head re sturdy. The frame is the one aspect of it that gives me pause. Otherwise it's really quite reasonable to push. harder on camber but quite possible one handed if flat smooth surface. The seats are good, not particularly tall but adequate for most children. The real selling point imho is the seating positions and the price. The baby lying flat parent facing, the toddler bolt upright underneath where the view is alright, there is quite a lot of air space around their head etc. The toddler's weight over the back wheels make it easier to push than some.
Incidentally I recently had a b dual too, which is superior is quality (and imo ease of push but I know some disagree) but the baby really needs to go in the lower seat. Second hand prices are excellent.
Both these tandems are large in width ~(DD 66cm with wheelguards, BDual 67 without guards, 7something with). The dimples duo is long is lie flat mode and average with the front seat sitting up.
I also have a used peach, which is the best to push of the lot but expensive and icandy customer service could be stumbling block. Lack of warranty if bought used etc.
Tiggywunkle and I are both waiting for Jane Twones (they are literally in transit) so reserving judgment on those but we both have high hopes!

I had a Kidz Kargo Duellette and have briefly looked at the Smyths version. I think there is soooo much good about these pushchairs - I loved the seating positions, the Smyths one has the lie flat seat for a newborn, they push well even with heavy children in (many tandems don't push well), good basket with access, takes one car seat etc etc. but the quality has always been my concern. However I have seen far more expensive pushchairs which concern me more. My issue is that I rarely have pushchairs long term so can't comment on whether they may or may not stay the course and with 3 school runs a day I would be doubtful how well it will last you. It could serve you brilliantly, but equally who knows. I would try to have a look at one and decide for yourself. I woudnt say its bad but unlike say a B-Dual or iCandy it's something to consider. But you could equally lose the same money off upon resale of say a new iCandy....
