How much to sell 1st gen bugaboo cam with broken brake.

I don't want my cam any more it is far too bulky for our house and do not like the 2 part fold. I'm getting a BJCM today :-)
What would be a good price to sell it for? the brake is broken. The logo in the hood has faded off and there are few marks on the seat which could probably be scrubbed off (Any suggestions what to use to get stains out of the seat unit) the base colour is sand and I have brown hood and seat/ bassinette fabric. I will also be selling it with orange cosy toes, rain over and maxi cosi adaptors.
Any help appreciated, first time selling pushchair!

I don't know about prices for Cams but I'd fix the brake before selling as it'll increase the value a lot. What is it that's broken? Brake cables can be made up at bike shops or www.buggypitstop.co.uk do all kinds of parts. I have a nearside brake shoe somewhere if that happens to be what you need. :)

You could try Vanish oxi-action spray to tackle the marks/stains on the fabric, you spray on and rub the marks gently, leave for no longer than 5 mins and do not let it dry. Then wash as usual with whatever method is recommended for Bugaboo fabrics, probably with a colour safe biological detergent.

I couldn't tell you what price to ask, but I do know that a fully working, clean and presentable pre-loved pushchair will sell much quicker than one that looks as if it hasn't been cared for, because people will wonder what else is wrong with it as well as the brakes? Is it even safe etc? It's always worth scrubbing the chassis and wheels, cleaning the fabrics and ensuring the whole thing works well before selling. You can tell prospective buyers that the brakes have been overhauled (once they're fixed) to reassure them.

Might it be worth looking on ebay to see what other bugaboos of similar age are going for to give you an idea of price?

Also consider selling the items separately, if you find the fabrics don't come up well after cleaning. A fully working chassis without wheels could be worth £75 or more alone from what I've just seen on ebay.

Thankyou both that is really helpful. I will try the oxi action spray. With regard to the brake the bit that you pull to put the brake on wont click into place, so think it is the actual clasp bit not the cable.

If the fabrics still don't come up well, you could sell the chassis, wheels, raincover and carseat adaptors as a package and add the fabrics as an extra. Prospective buyers might want to buy new ones anyway in their choice of colours.

If you unscrew the casing of the brake handle, you should be able to tell if there's something broken inside. It could actually be that the brake cable has stretched though.

Have a look at the page for the Bugaboo Repair Guy and ask him about the brake..he will probably tell you how to fix it without sending to buggy pit stop, there is also another repair company who charge less to collect. Amazing he is in NZ and will answer any questions for you..

Parts can be bought from Bugaboo or a company in Petts Wood baby something...cheaper postage.

We fixed the handle extender thingy ourselves before selling. It was the 2nd Gen and I got £320 on ebay..its all in the pictures (OH photographer) and arrange a courier you will get more. I was honest about what we had repaired as we also replaced the buttons and took pictures of the chassis where we had scrapes etc.

Two years and much muddy dog walks I finally washed everything and it looked fab the fabrics all wash really well and you can scrub the rest of it..I was sorry to see it go..then I remembered what a pain in the ar** it was...
