Pushchairs

Why do none of the double pushchairs do what I want??

All I want is a double in-line pushchair where the carrycot can face me, and my DS can face outwards - there doesn't seem to be one! The iCandy Pear and Peach Blossom, and the Baby Jogger one (can't remember its name) seem to have the carrycot facing the wrong way.

Closest I've found to what I want is the Bugaboo Donkey. But that is not an in-line pushchair, but at least the new baby will face me.

Am I missing a pushchair somewhere that will be more suited to what I want?

i saw one today that did just that! it was LONG tho, looked like a nightmare to navigate round shops tbh.

i am sure there is a pushchair that will do that and some of the buggy addicts will be along to help, or go and ask on one of the buggy addict threads!

The only inline Baby Jogger is the City Select, and the baby can certainly face you, but they are in the front position - which actually gives a really good view of the baby whilst you can still talk to and hear your toddler clearly and they can see out.
The Smyths Dimples Duo allows you to have the baby facing you on top with your toddler facing out - but the view is restricted for the toddler.
The O'Baby Zoom can but the quality is known for being really poor and they even charge to take the pushchair back in to be looked at if there is an issue.
The Britax B-Dual will allow your baby to parent face in either a soft cot or a hard carrycot but in reality the toddlers space is compromised.
The Mountain Buggy +One would give you the combination but you must read carefully about it and I dont know what your age gap is.
The Bebecar One&Two would allow you the combination you want.
The Jane Powertwin will let you have the combination but it depends on the leg length of your eldest as to how useful this will be - the leg length is very short and after that the main footrest is on the front wheel!!
The Babystyle Oyster Max would give you a lie flat front seat for the baby parent facing but isn't out until the end of the year. The Micralite Twofold would also give you the combination you want, but again its not out as yet.

But this is only half the story - you then have to consider how well they push and how well they will last you long term. Doubles are a nightmare!!

Ah - I didn't realise you could have the carrycot at the front with the City Select - I am very tempted by it, but my friend has one and she says she struggles to push it with a 22mo and a newborn which does concern me...

Just been looking around and the Babystyle Oyster Max does look interesting (another friend has a Babystyle Oyster and raves about how good it is). If it isn't out until the end of the year I fear it will be too late for us...

Carrycot at the front on the BJCS. We have a 21 month gap and it was great for the first 9 months but then it started to hurt to push it. I loved it until then, but had to stop using it because it hurt too much. But whether the weight is an issue depends completely on your roads, footpaths, cambers etc.

Our age gap is 28 months. I would only be using the City Select on good footpaths as it is mostly for the walk into town and back.

Been looking at the Mountain Buggy + one and I think it might be suitable given this age gap, as DS could go in the back seat when DC2 has outgrown the cocoon.

I love our +one and the long term longevity for us. The tricky bit is getting the baby from 6-12/18 months so they can nap comfortably in the front. But Frigg has just bought a fabulous liner for the front seat of her +One which has side wings for her LO to sleep between. I think it is a Snunkie one. I like the +One because it feels neat for a tandem. There are compromises though and as i said, do make sure you know what these are at the start.
