Do black pushchairs get too hot in sunny weather?

I've spent far too long looking at various carrycot/pushchair combos and due to my main requirements I think I've narrowed it down to Mutsy Evo, Britax B-smart or Uppababy Vista (which was my favourite but I'm going off it now as apparently the seat is only suitable from 6 months so tough luck if baby hates the carrycot).

Anyway, I'm not that fussed on the colours available for the Evo or B-smart, mainly because I kind of feel like a black pushchair or especially carrycot would get too hot in sunny weather and a lighter colour would be better. Do you think that's true or am I being picky (or unreasonably optimistic about British weather!)? Aesthetically I prefer black to the other options available.

(Also if anyone has recommendations out of the above 3 I'd be grateful to hear them. My biggest preferences are for a big shopping basket that's still accessible with the carrycot attached, carrycot comes off easily and buggy folds up reasonably easily in case I ever need to do that on a bus.)

I had a black pushchair for DS and it was fine. The carrycot bit is usually lined anyway so doesn't get hot and sweaty.

I wouldnt worry at all about the colour. I think most of my pushchairs are black and its never been an issue here in the UK. Also a lot of pushchairs have mesh panels which can be unzipped or panels that remove.

I have had the Mutsy Evo and the Vista. The Vista is amazingly high spec and the carrycot is gorgeous. The Vista has the huge basket too. It freestands, pushes great, has the sun canopies etc etc. The Musty Evo is excellent too. I can't say I would want to fold either of them up to get onto a bus though - neither. The Vista is tall folded but it does freestand but takes up a fair bit of floor space. The Evo really needs two hands (as does the Vista) so where will you put a crawling 9 month old baby plus shopping whilst you fold it. For a bus, you really need a one handed fold thats easy to carry TBH - I would send you off to have a good look at the various Baby Joggers or Easywalker June or Britax B-Agile TBH. Or budget in for another pushchair later on....

I have the Uppababy Vista and DS was in the seat from 3 months. It tips back really far so it wasn't a problem at all. You can also get an insert to put in it if you think your child needs more support (DS didn't but he is a giant).

If you're worried about black being too hot, would you get a lamp skin / sheep skin liner? The idea is that they are cool in the summer and warm in the winter (but I would still use a footmuff when it is very cold). John Lewis do one for £50 (this is the one I use in the vista) but these people also do good stuff:

As it is cream I think a sheepskin would look awesome next to the black. Soften it up a bit as well.

We don't have a problem with our black one, but the pale stripe down the hood of one of our buggies attracts all the flies/bugs. Something I didn't even think about!
