icandy peach blossom

Is it just the same as icandy peach but adapted to two children? So if i buy a used one now, and use it as a double for the next year, can i use it as a single after that when my 2.5 yr old doesn't need buggying any more?
Am thinking of buying whole system 2nd hand and selling on bits i don't need, i.e 2nd carrycot. Rather than buying a peach and adding second child extras. Have baby and toddler.
Also any reason why a tomato would be cheaper than blackjack? Are they older or just less desirable colour? Personally i don't mind any colour.

Thanks icandy experts

Yes, you just add a fitting to have an extra seat below. You can use it as a single or a double. It's a great pram.
The blackjack colour seems to be more popular where I live. I like the tomato colour but it's more girly IMO.
Why buy the whole system to then sell on bits? This does not make sense to me!
Bear in mind that there has been problems with iCandy and a load of people have had problem getting what they ordered.
Also they are releasing a version 2 soon.

Sorry I had not registered you wanted to buy it second hand.
It's a great pram btw.

Thanks dialm, i have two girls so no problem if it is a bit girly. Don't think i could stomach pink but red is just fine.

Ok, first of all if you buy second hand please please look out for scammers. There are some terrible ones around for Peaches and Peach Blossoms. Buy through EBay or a reputable source or pick it up in person.

There are slight differences in Peaches across time. The latest Peaches have zip in liners, no hoods in windows, bigger harnesses and extended basket. So the later the better.

I agree with you that buying a whole system and selling off anything you don't need can really pay off. ihateparties did some canny buying and new has an almost new Peach Blossom for around £300 I think....! She's just sold some bits off but she had a bargain to start with too!

The Peach is fab as a single. I love mine :D

I don't know how old your baby is, but just be aware the rear seat doesn't sit upright on the current Blossom kits. This tends to determine how long the Blossom is useful. Also I suspect as the new Blossom kits roll in that there will be lots of old kits for sale so if you have time, another month or few could yield more bargains.

I don't think it matters how you buy it, if you can get just what you need it is simpler (I have not enjoyed selling off the extra bits on ebay but it has brought the cost down). I started using mine with a 3mth old and got a used stokker xplory newborn insert/wedge thing for the lower seat. The baby LOVES this, considerably more than the carrycot she was in previously. Not sure I would have used it for a newborn but there are various wedge options floating around including a footmuff that I've forgotten the name of (helpful!) with an integral one if you think you might prefer not to get a carrycot. Depends how you might use one really, for daytime sleeping etc.

Also I think the red is lovely, would have got that had there been one close enough at the right price. I totally agree with Tiggy re looking at/collecting, v important. Because of the stock issues they seem to be selling well on ebay, especially the converter kits, this could well change when the new ones appear. Something to think about.

It is definitely a true single too, there's hardly anything else you can say that about. It neither feels or looks a little too large or a little too long as some single/double tandems do.... Grin

My baby is 9 weeks old but was 4 weeks early so size wise is about 5 weeks so I'll definitely need the carrycot or a newborn attachment for a while. Good idea on the stokke attachment, ihateparties, will have a look. I have a stokke but had the carrycot rather than that. Was thinking i would buy one of the twin sets that has everything, and then sell on the upper carrycot, or maybe even use that one on the days when dd1 (age 2.5) is at nursery.
And am guessing by the time dd2 wants to sit the front seat, dd1 won't be in the buggy as much.
Thanks for the advice re buying 2ndhand. Am just looking at eBay at the mo, so hopefully won't get scammed.

There's no denying the full set with both carrycots would be useful if you have the space to keep all the relevant bits to hand. You could then sell both carrycots at once when you didn't need them anymore I suppose. If my baby had been a bit younger and/or a bit smaller (can't predict it seems, I've had massive ones and small to average ones so didn't know how quick this particular one would grow) I would def have got at least one carrycot.

I did the sling/buggyboard thing for a while, totally didn't work for me (having baby tied to me whilst dealing with 2 other very small people wasn't ideal) but does for some people and lifestyles. I suppose perhaps you could sell your peach and buy another double for the same amount but you wouldn't end up with as good a double as the peach is. Depends what your priorities are.

If you bought the extra peach bits you'd probably have the best to push most user friendly double (imo after trying ahem.. a few, tiggy has tried many more so has more full info). Dependent on how long you can wait it would be better to get the PB2 converter kit, which has a bigger seat that goes fully upright where the current one does not but it would not match your main seat as the new colours are different and you'd need to spend yet another £50 getting your existing Peach frame adapted by Icandy, unless it is new enough to be an already adapted one.

Also there may be a newborn wedge option that you could use for a newborn if you really didn't want to shell out for a carrycot, again that depends on your approach, some people are happy to improvise on something like that, some are not. Grin

I spent a fortune on doubles and you struggle to get one better than the Peach Blossom 2. With your age gap you could do with that version (it's the same age gap as we have). I actually have come full circle through 40-50 double pushchairs and wish I had stuck with my original Peach Blossom and then switched to the Mountain Buggy +One. As it was, I was fortunate to have the first PB2 and it's been superb and is still used regularly by us. There are still compromises like buying a lower carrycot and lower seat access but in the bigger picture they are worth it for pushability, ease of use, child comfort, small fold etc.
