Silver Cross 3D, are there any good points to it?

Gutted after reading the reviews. It ticks all the boxes for my DS's needs and its affordable (just). The reviews are really dissappointing on here though.

I havent heard anything good about them TBH. Heavy, difficult to push and the pramette bit is supposed to be small.
What are you looking for and what is your budget?

reddaisy · 06/06/2012 18:14

I have got one and I hate it. It is cumbersome, the straps are v fiddly and too short when it is forward facing so I struggle to get DS into it. Do yourself a favour and buy something else!

budget £350, its on offer for less than that. It just looked so snug for our long Winter walks plus, you can hang your shopping on it!

It is snug that is true and it is good for shopping. I am using a Quinny Buzz pushchair now and I can't even put my handbag on it for fear that it will tip over. I hated getting the 3D in and out of the car but if you are going to be mostly walking from home then it might be ok.

The M&P Pliko is a very similar pram and seems to fare better in reviews. Loads around second-hand too.
3 of my friends had the 3D and hated it. I had the Linear Freeway and loved it but it is MASSIVE.

happydotcom · 10/06/2012 19:36

Hated the 3D of whiCh we bought second hand on eBay. Pramette too small, too heavy in general and no height adjust things on handle bar. Both DH and I are tall.

We bought it for £80 with car seat.

The m4 from mothercare was our replacement and simply adore it. :) base bought on eBay for £100 and the pram bit new from mothercare on line.

My friend fell in live with the 3D bought it for her dd and promptly fell out if love with it very quickly. She hated just about everything about it - difficult to push, difficult to access the shopping basket, didn't do curbs etc etc. I think you can do a lot better for similar money.

I bought one from a friend for £50 and I hate it. My daughter is eleven weeks and has outgrown the pramette which allegedly lasts until six months. It is heavy, difficult to manage on the bus, a pain to attach the car seat and the raincover won't fit if the car seat is attached. It has a big shopping basket but it is not very easy to access. I used it for five weeks before buying a stroller from eBay.

If you want a pramette, M&P pliko is good. Bought it for my 1st and still using it with my 2nd....

RubberBandit · 16/06/2012 12:00

Two friends of mine had the M&P Pliko and both hated it. One was overjoyed when it was stolen (her car was nicked with the pram in it) and was delighted to have the excuse to replace it.

I've been given a 3D for nothing but it's just the forward facing buggy- I was going to source the pram liner part but I'm wondering whether to bother now!

RockChick1984 · 16/06/2012 22:43

I hated my 3d, and they are so common around here that if I'm lucky I'll get £50 for it if I sell it (at the moment it's being used by the GP's when DS is there). DS had outgrown the carry cot by 12 weeks, it only faces forward once in the pram part. It's heavy, doesn't steer well, and it's a nightmare to set up and fold when using the carry cot.

Please please don't waste £300 on it! I paid around the same for my Babystyle Oyster and it's a million times better!
