Joolz pram advice or feedback

Hello,

Went pram shopping for first time yesterday. Was kind of sold on the joolz pram. Does anyone have any feedback? I live in the city and have stairs in my flat. I will be using public transport quite a lot I think. The woman in the shop sold the pram to me, although I haven't bought yet. It seemed lightweight and easy to fold away.

Any feedback good and bad would be appreciated. It's very expensive and I want to make the right choice!

Thanks

Are you planning on carrying it upstairs. It's not light to carry although not especially heavy. It is easy to fold and great that it folds with the seat in either direction. I do love mine, mostly because it's so lovely to push, the seat is big and high up, and I like the look of it. The basket isn't particularly big and the access is only from one side but I have the xl bag if I need more storage. I also find that the hood isn't big enough so I have the sunshade which extends the hood more than enough, but the sunshade only comes in dark grey.

I have a Joolz and although its good, and like Hypatia says, it has a big seat etc. Its not small folded compared to a lot of pushchairs. In fact its filling up my pram room a fair bit at present. I certainly would not like to be carrying it anywhere so if you have storage downstairs then I would say, go for it. If you need to carry it up any stairs, then I would be looking for something smaller TBH.

Hi,

We are looking at the Joolz Day but also considering the Oyster. Does anybody have any comments on the pros and cons of either please? Also it's really hard to find prices for the Joolz online as the company wont allow them to be advertised-does anybody know of any good deals anywhere? Thanks

I have Joolz ... Excellent experience to date... Bought mine from Winstanley pram world, paid 600 for package of changing bag, foot muff, pram seat, carry cot, chasis wheels, coffee cup holder, maxi cosi adaptors.

Love the fact could use carry cot for overnight stays, pram is smart, lovely to push, lots of other mums jealous !! It is not a small pram, but that is a side effect of the seat height, which I think is important, so that baby can interact with the world, and also so they are not at the level of exhaust fumes, or where dogs can take a sneaky look in whilst you are walking around with them. Some people hate the fold mechanism, there is a knack to it, it doesn't require brut force. I like the fact you can keep the pram seat connected and fold it down.

I have invested in the uv sun shade, and xl shopping bag, I can fit a weekly shop on the pram, without problem, and it is still very easy to push.... Shop assistants all very impressed with amount of storage space!

Have had excellent customer experience from both Joolz and Winstanley pram world. Developed a fault on chassis, the folding mechanism was triggering on ne Side when any weight added to the the handle bars...., filmed it and e mailed it, replacement chasis provided within a week.

Only con I have discovered now my 6 month old likes to be forward facing, is it is disconcerting not having a vent/ peep hole... Think it is necessary for good ventilation i recent hot weather, 2012 version hood has this, I am hoping I will be able to purchSe the upgraded hood as i think this is a necessary addition.

Henlet, I have a Joolz Day and my sister has an Oyster.

Joolz has a higher seat, much taller seat back, much nicer to push, loads of storage with the xl bag, better seating position, longer harness

Oyster has a bigger hood (but the Joolz sunshade extends further than the Oyster hood), easier access to the basket, bigger basket, narrower, smaller folded, colour pack options, viewing window in hood, adjustable shoulder height for harness, a bit cheaper overall, one hand recline

I have both and there is no comparison for me. The Joolz is a large pushchair, the Oyster is a small one. The Joolz has a huge seat and long leg rest. But the Oyster is perfectly adequate for an older child. I would use the Joolz as a walking pushchair but TBH I wouldn't want to be putting it in and out of the car all the time, wheras the Oyster would be fine. Joolz have an excellent customer service reputation. The seating position on the Joolz seems better than the Oyster. But for the price, you get a lot for your money with the Oyster. Hypatia has summed up the nitty gritty finer points well. Have you looked at the Mutsy Evo because it's very like the Oyster in a lot of ways but better, and again great value for money.
