Hi! We are really liking the Uppababy Vista, this will be our first baby and thus first pram. Keen to have a carrycot for when newborn and first few months. They advise pushchair suitable for 6 months up but I know not all babies will be happy in a carrycot until 6 months!!! There is no custom baby nest available for it, apparently available at source but not in UK for health and safety reasons. Being a newbie, not sure if a generic one will fit? Pushchair is big and roomy and do not think a 4 month ish baby would be well supported in it. Appreciate anyone's thoughts! Oh, the store answer was simply that itbis not available. And if nest is the wrong word, sorry, but hoping you know what I mean! Thanks!

hi i don't have a vista so I'm not sure if this is what you mean by nest but groovystyle.co.uk have got a snug seat insert for the vista in stock

To be fair most babies will be happy in a carrycot until at least 5 ish months - and most sleep when you are out and about anyway until that age from my experiences of many children! (Generalisations I know and there are exceptions). The Vista carrycot is included in the price of the Vista, and is absolutely beautiful, and to be honest at the point at which you think your baby is ready to sit up, then I would revisit this then. It really would be better to use the carrycot for as long as you can.

But I have flagged this up to someone who is currently using a Vista seat for a newborn. The Vista is excellent though and highly recommended here.

I had the vista for my first baby, we were living abroad do the 2009 version, but nearly exactly the same. When DS was a baby he hated the bassinet (even though fab quality) because he didn't like lying flat (even though it's recommended) and he just kind of rolled around in it.

I ended up slinging him till about four months when he went into the seat and loved it! This time I've bought this and expect to use it with seat reclined from about the same age.

Yes, I use the seat for my newborn (when using the second rumble seat for my son. I have a small pregnancy wedge pillow placed in the seat, then either a liner or a footmuff placed over it. This means I can use the seat semi-reclned and the rumble seat.

However the carrycot is one of the best I have seen and used. It has lovely deep sides, plush mattress and lining, breezy canopy and uv shade built in, and good visability of my baby girl. So when I don't need the rumble seat, I use the carrycot.

I've got a Vista and still using the carrycot - my baby is almost 5 months. Did try her in the seat a couple of weeks ago as I wanted her to be able to see out more, but decided I prefer the carrycot for now so I'll keep her in it until she's sitting up.
Love our Vista, the carrycot is great.

I would say, buy the vista, don't worry about a nest/insert but just see how you get on as your baby gets older. Carrycot with blankets lovely and snuggly for a newborn!

Forgot to say, that the 2012 vista seat can be used from birth with the insert that cervixwithasmile linked to.

Oh thank you all for the encouragement! Really do love the pram, without doubt is the best we have found. Thank you so much for the link. I had not been able to find one, so i will look in to this more now. Do indeed hope to use the carrycot as it is really lovely, especially as baby coming in October - expecting coldness!! But as i have read on here that not all babas like them!!! That is brilliant, thank you all. Xx

I have a Vista and was under the impression that they could go in the seat from 3 months. Anyway, DS was in the seat from about 4 months, I just had it on quite a reclined setting, I don't seem to have harmed him too much Smile.

DS liked sleeping in the carrycot at home but was never a great fan of being out and about in it, so I mostly had to use the carseat option, but I think this is due to him hating lying on his bag and once he was a bit older nosiness!
