Pushchairs
Please help me choose!

I could be pram shopping again this week, fed up of my bee+!
I have seen the maclaren cath kidson floral spreay, but think it is just the fabric i'm loving, will I hate the push & feel of the maclaren?
M&P Sync looks nice, but I know M&P customer service is shocking!
Just seen a Baby Jogger City Mini (sidewalk) In Black And Purple, with footmuff, rain cover & parent tray for £200 on ebay, is that worth it? Is there anything to be wary of buying secondhand?
Or anything else you could recommend?
My daughter is 11mth, only really used for the school run, but that is just from the car park to the playground! The odd shopping trip nothing heavy duty!
Am I just going to be disappointed in anything else after having a cam & bee?
Thanks for your help!

I dont think you will be disappointed - in fact the opposite. I love the solidity of my Baby Joggers. I took the GT out today and I love how firm and stable it feels. There's no give in the chassis at all like there is with both the Bee and especially the Cam.
I would be wary of buying secondhand Sidewalks because the last batch have had issues with a juddering front wheel. Personally I would stick to the City Mini.
Again the Sync has issues - I went to look at a Synch a few weeks ago and saw that the back was broken ie squashed down. I queried it and the lady quickly swapped it for another one. I have since seen on the M&P website that broken backs are a known issue - I think partly caused by wrong folding. But after that I was reluctant to buy one without more reassurance.
I dont think you will go wrong if you stick to the Baby Joggers. They are easy to use, feel good, easy to fold. But they may feel cumbersome after the Bee+. Like you, we do a lot of going from the car into nursery and back and we love the Maxi-Cosi Noa and the Quinny Yezz for ease of use. But I wouldn't want to be pushing either for a long time around the shops. But for the school run in and out they are both fab. Like today - we took the Yezz into nursery, but when we got to the doctors and then later the shops we used the BJCMGT - because I needed the storage basket plus it was raining lightly and the BJ's have the huge hoods. So out of the two the BJCM / GT would cover both jobs.

Thank you!
Think that rules the M&P out then, shame as I have a factory outlet near me!
I will have to go & push a few baby joggers around then at the weekend, never seen one in the flesh but because everyone raves about them it seems an obvious choice!
I hadn't even considered the Quinny Yezz, after hating both the buzz & zapp!
Whats your thoughts on the Cath Kidston Maclaren?
Ive had a techno about 6 years back, is it inferior to that or worth a shot?
Thanks again x

The cath kidston spray of flowers has beautiful fabric. That is where it's beauty ends. It has no suspension.
It has a tiny hard to access basket.
It's a two handed push and the handle height is not adjustable.
The wheels have no ball bearings. They are plastic discs on a metal post. They will squeak!
Walk away from the nostalgic maclaren.
Pushchairs have moved on and I would strongly suggest you look at the babyjogger gt! It's got front wheel suspension. Glides beautifully on its forever air tyres. Offers your baby an ergonomic comfortable seat. Lovely easy to adjust harness...and huge and practical Hood.
I would also recommend viewing the mountain buggy swift which is tiny, cute über practical and extremely agile. It's durable, practical, a joy to push and again extremely comfy for baby.

i find maclaren wheels do squeak when new, but i just spray them with silicone spray and no squeak.
i do like maclarens, they are functional, lightweight and easy to fold (dad and grandparent-proof). the harness with the double release button make them almost escape proof as well. i find the handles a good height on the small maclarens (xt and xlr handles are a little high for me).

Hello :)
I have the baby jogger city mini and i love it!!!
One of teh best pushchairs iv had as of yet!!
I also have a Peg Perego Aria which i love for doing my shopping.
Its only 5.8kg and folds in a second, huge basket for shopping and the seat unit is nice and padded :) :)
Mine is in a funky green colour, they have cool colours on ebay at the mo :)
:) :) :)

I'm too tall for the quest and not a fan of the blue CK one much prefered the red spotty one but it is on offer somewhere, can't remember kiddicare or lesters pramworld? There is a 10% code for kiddicare too knocking around.
I prefer the xt, very practical, functional, won't let you down but a bit boring (disclaimer I have the bee+ and xt!!)
carrielou2007 · 19/05/2012 09:56
Oh and I second the MB swift it is fab but I hate the small rear wheels so I put urban axels and big 12 inch wheels on mine, it is my school run/Cornwall holidays/we live by the sea/fab when you need to use a buggyboard/general all round fabulousness buggy!!
khill3008 · 19/05/2012 11:49
Thanks for all the suggestions!
Im not sure 3 wheelers are for me, but to be fair it is 6years since I used them, Ive had P&T, M&P 03, & a mothercare one, P&T was the best but it drove me mad, too tippy!
I was only looking at the baby jogger as everyone seems to rate them well!
After 4 babies you would think I would have found the perfect pushchair - maybe it just doesn't exist!
I have a 7 seater car so need it to be small fold, DD is 11mth so want it to last.
Although I like my bee, i dont love it!
The ck quest is pretty... but probably useless!
The search continues!...
