Quinny Buzz - Please help me decide if it is right for me...

I am having a nightmare deciding if this is the pushchair for me.. please can anyone help?

When I set myself out on the hunt for the right pushchair my i wanted an all round puschair that is suitable for off road walks in the woods and trips out to the shops. I don't use any public transport so the size of the frame was never an issue for me.

I have looked at a few pushchairs including the icandy's, Mothercare MY3, mamas and papas Zoom to name but a few but I keep coming back to the buzz.

The issue I have with it is the size of the seat unit. I really want to make sure this pushchair will last for at least 18mths-2yrs as it will be a gift. Does anyone have issues with the size of the seat unit in older babies/todlers?

The Buzz will certainly last for a 2 year old.
I am not entirely sure it would be my choice for walks in the woods with the small wheel (s) at the front, and as you will be aware the Buzz is wide which you do notice through door frames and around small shops. Its also large in the boot of a car. The seat is comfy though and it is nice to push. I find it long though.

My friend has a large 18 month old and he fits fine - I think she said it comes with a larger seat unit for when they grow? She sometimes struggles in shops though.I think you can buy a bigger wheel for the front.

Would you be willing to buy one second hand? If so, maybe get one that way so that you can try it in your life, and then you can sell it on for not much of a loss if it doesn't work for you.

I speak from bitter experience that it's only when you try something in your environment do you find out whether it's the pram for you.

Maybe worth a thought? I think they crop up quite frequently on eBay.

I have one on the "for sale" board if you are interested... Wink

I have one and it's great but huge! Our boot isn't small and the wheels and seat takes the whole space up.

I convinced myself we needed one with a carrycot and used it twice, the rest of the time we put DS' maxi cosi car seat in the base as it was so much easier.

Now I wish I'd got a quinny zapp as you can still put the car seat in and it folds down much smaller. Friends told me I didn't need a travel system but I wouldn't be told...

'Tis true....it is big when folded but its great to push and although the back wheels are wide we never had any trouble in shops/public transport (SE London) and it fit in our Golf boot without a problem. Unfolding mechanism is great too. DS was so comfy in it he used to have his daytime naps in it inside at home until he was about 5 months old Smile He still would now given half a chance (he's 2 now!)

We didn't bother with the carrycot, just used the maxicosi and the seat unit lying flat from birth and it was absolutely fine, just popped in a sheepskin liner when DS was tiny (and used straps)

We're making space for a double now that DC2 is on her way, otherwise wouldn't hesitate to use the Quinny again.

Hastily adding, this isn't a sales pitch - just my opinion of what was a great pram for us! It is important to go with one that suits you and your lifestyle Wink

I had one for ds. I used the carrycot everyday for the first 4 months though because I walk everywhere do was doing school and nursery run 3 x a day with a baby so I felt happier using the carrycot so if ds fell asleep on the school run I didn't have to worry about disturbing him when we got home because he was lovely and flat. Also, if he had a nap I put him in the carrycot and didnt need to wake him when I went out again.

I used it til ds was about 2.6 when it started getting heavier to push, we now use a zapp.
