I think I've just bought another pushchair, oops!

However, it is a baby jogger Summit

Now how do I smuggle it past OH, given that he's going to be there when I pick it up...

That's not bad given the one I'm stalking buying includes the raincover Grin

I love my city mini and have a cosy toes and am about to buy a bumper bar, my urban detour has good air tyres but no suspension, whereas the Herqules has great suspension but I find the tyres too slippery on mud, so I'm hoping this will be the ultimate lovechild buggy of them all!!!

I think it will live up to expectations :) So what do you do with your buggy that is considered "off road"?

Tiggywunkle · 07/05/2012 10:06

I finally bought a bumper bar for my BJCM4 this week which given I have already had a couple of BJCMs, Elite etc I am quietly excited about. I should have bought it years ago :) I imported a Baby Jogger Cooler as well but need an excuse to use it. I pick up a BJCMGT this week too :D

Daisy impressed us with her Savvy buying of several pushchairs mainly before birth!! I really hope you like the Summit. I can't wait to hear how you get on with it. You should get a TFK Mamaboard for the back for extra fun! Monkeys or Prams had one on theirs!

Daisybell1 · 07/05/2012 10:39

Milk, we farm up in the Yorkshire Dales so I need a buggy which will work around the farm plus, as the roads are horrible and twisty, it would be good to have something which I can push into town along rough footpaths.

There's also several of those all terrain pushchair walks up here which nearly killed me taking the urban detour!

Tiggywunkle · 07/05/2012 12:02

I have such an idyllic picture of you now, Daisy, surrounded by green fields, cows, dry stone walls and walking along paths into town...of course all on a lovely sunny day!

milk · 07/05/2012 12:44

Googles "Yorkshire Dales".... Shock how beautiful!!!

We live in the urban jungle that is London :( I'd love to be surrounded by such natural beauty! I once went to the Isle of Skye and thought I was in heaven :)

Tiggywunkle · 07/05/2012 13:15

The Isle of Skye is awesome. We booked our honeymoon to go there (after a brief trip many years ago) but then I discovered that DD was due days after the wedding - we had to move the date forwards!! So we never had the honeymoon as it was too far to travel quite pregnant.....

AceOfBase · 07/05/2012 13:39

Heehee. "isle" of skye. Up here we just call it skye :o so buggy geniuses recommend me one for a newborn that does well off road and can be parent facing without a car seat and doesn't cost the earth? I'm struggling here.

milk · 07/05/2012 15:51

Tiggywunkle- are you going to take a honeymoon at a later date?

AceOfBase- "doesn't cost the earth?"- what is your budget?

Daisybell1 · 07/05/2012 17:24

Ace - budget would be helpful as people have very different views of cheap/expensive.

I'll certainly do a review of the summit when it arrives - it will take a carry cot for parent facing if that would suit you?

OP posts:
AceOfBase · 07/05/2012 17:34

Um I guess 3-400 and tbh i don't mind if its second hand so even if you suggested one thats more expensive I can try to source it cheaper. Thing is I've got prams to sell too like my very dear bertini but they are all doubles which I don't need as my older two are too old for that so this baby gets a nice new pram to itself (or old as the case may be). I almost wish it were twins just so i could keep my bertini its awesome. But I'm not keen on their singles so i won't be getting one of those. It's been ages since i bought a single pram so i really don't know where to start. One thing is though it must be all terrain as I live in the back of beyond and walk the dcs to school everyday which is 2 miles each way of country lane :)

Daisybell1 · 07/05/2012 17:39

Right, will definitely review the summit for you when I get it!

Primrose123 · 07/05/2012 17:46

Ooh, I didn't know there were other pramaholics! My DDs are now 15 and 11 so no need for prams any more. :( However we are very tentatively considering having another baby, (can't decide if I'm too old or not).

When I was first pregnant I had every brochure for every make of pram and knew them all (could name each pram I saw when we went out, DH thought I was insane!) There was no Internet then, if there had been I would have been unstoppable!

I think overall I had six prams in total, unless I've forgotten any. I still have the first, a mamas and papas carrycot and pushchair, all wrapped up in the attic.

AceOfBase · 07/05/2012 17:47

Oh thankyou. I wasn't expecting to have any more and now I'm well, expecting :o I have nothing in the way of baby things except a few huge prams that are completely useless to me. And a pair of converse that fit a 1 year old that this baby will wear when they are old enough since my other two have worn them as their first 'proper' shoes.

GinPalace · 07/05/2012 17:47

Aceofbase you could do a lot worse than the OBaby Zezu - I love mine - it has all you say and lots more. Grin

AceOfBase · 07/05/2012 17:51

Is it good in mud and thick snow? I live in rural highlands and we get literally 4-6ft of snow in winter and i am due in Nov. I realise its early to think about it but i want to research plenty to get the right thing so i don't waste my money on something I can't use.

milk · 07/05/2012 18:01

AceOfBase - what a great budget Grin It is never too early to research prams, plus if the pram you want is popular you might have to order it which can take 2-3 months.

Daisybell1 - Can't wait to hear about the summit! After reading about it, I really hope it is as good as they say it is.

Primrose123 - Hope you don't mind me asking how old you are. If you are 45 or under, then I'd say go for it! :)

GinPalace · 07/05/2012 18:11

ah - it's only downside is that the front wheels get a clogged up in mud - so on muddy dog walks I have to stop to de-clog every few hundred yards. I used sling on those occasions more.

Hmm maybe not for you. However worth a nosey as the various features are ace - many I didn't even think of prior to having children, so could use as a benchmark for those that can cope with snow and thick mud - would love to know your final choice... Grin

Primrose123 · 07/05/2012 18:12

Hi Milk

Yes I'm a few years under that! Is that the accepted cut off age? I'm quite healthy unfortunately quite overweight though and got pregnant very easily with both babies, although I realise that might not be the case now that I'm a bit older. I know a few mums who had babies in their early forties, one of whom is a GP, and the kids are all fine.

AceOfBase · 07/05/2012 18:19

Oh I had a wee look just now gin I would love that :( I like the way the seat unit changes to a pram so you don't need loads of attachments. And it comes in purple Envy if I could choose that with different wheels it'd be perfect. But considering I wear wellies most days I think not. Great price too though. How annoying! :o

MilkNoSugarAndAShotofWhisky · 07/05/2012 18:35

Primrose, Do it Do it Do it Do it :o :o

GinPalace · 07/05/2012 18:39

Ace it is brill! Grin

I have used it from birth as a flat pram to full pushchair and still going strong - all my friends agree it was the best choice of all our prams

Being able to face it both ways even with baby lying flat but at slight angle to see stuff was fab.

So maneuvrable I could go on. :)

milk · 07/05/2012 18:39

Primrose123- Early forties is a fine age to have a child :) I also know women who have fallen pregnant aged 40-43 and there is nothing wrong with them as mothers.

AceOfBase- I think Baby Joggers are the best for you, the question is which one? Or a second hand Mountain buggy would also be good :)

milk · 07/05/2012 18:40

MilkNoSugarAndAShotofWhisky- good evening Grin

MilkNoSugarAndAShotofWhisky · 07/05/2012 20:18
