Does anyone know where I could try out a Mountain Buggy +one???

I have called a few retailers that stock Mountain Buggy products but none of them will be stocking the +one (they didn't sound impressed with it to be honest). I would still be very keen to see one in the flesh and try it out as it still seems like a good option for us.

Does anyone know any retailers who have them or will have them in stock?

So far I have only seen it on Oxford Pram centre website, but I shall keep looking as I want to try it too Grin

Great Smile Please do let me know how you get on! It looks like an interesting option but I am a bit scared of buying one before I have tried it out especially as one of the people in the retailers I spoke to mentioned it was awkward accessing the rear seat.

mountainbuggy.com/en/retailers-global

Store locator (you have to change country from US to UK)

Every shop I called didn't have one :O

Yup, that's where I found the retailers I spoke to. They were all pushing the Duet rather than the +one (or a Phil&Teds in one case). I guess I'll have to keep going down the list and phoning the rest!

Only Oxford has it :O

Shock and they are out of stock.....Does that mean that they are the only ones that will have it in when there is more stock from Mountain Buggy? I wonder why, I have seen some really good reviews - especially for use with older toddlers.

Just sent Oxford Pram Centre an email (after realising why that the reason they weren't answering the phone was because it was after their 5pm closing time Blush ) asking them when/if they will be getting more stock and also whether it would be possible to have a play with one so I will update when I hear.

Oxford really not ideal (we are in Kent) but I suppose it might be a good place to view ALL of the possible options for a proper comparison....

Tiggy just spotted your post asking where I live - sorry must have missed it earlier Blush We are in Tunbridge Wells. I have called all of the local retailers and none of them will be stocking the +one Sad

Thanks Frigg Smile I called them today actually and then had an email from them to say their stocks were delivered this morning...my problem is DH is refusing to contemplate driving to Oxford to see it (it is a fair way away - he has a point!) so I think I may have to order it without having seen it.

When I spoke to a different retailer they told me that it would be fine for us to put it all together and have a good look at it once we received it as long as it didn't go outside and that if we wanted to return it it all had to go back in its original packaging so it may well be that this is what we end up doing.

Pleased to hear you love it - I think it sounds like a very good option, although I do realise there is going to be an awkward period for us when DC2 is too big for cocoon and too small for front seat, I think I'll just end up improvising using lie flat back bit with a sheepskin liner or something. Even the Phil and Teds prams have this issue though as far as I understand, there's never going to be a perfect option I don't think - it just seems to me that the +one has enough longevity to justify the compromise....

What a pain to find one. I keep hearing that retailers dont want to stock the +One but yet if your age gap is right, or you have two older toddlers - one over 2 and not napping - then its actually a brilliant pushchair. It seems to take over where other double pushchairs finish IYKWIM! I can easily see us with a 4 and 6 year old on board on long outings (I do like to shop all day once every few months in a shopping centre) in 3 years time TBH!!

I know, I was quite surprised by the views of the retailers I spoke to locally to me (seems to be quite a Phil & Teds following around here...). Their biggest concern seemed to be that the access to rear child is very awkward.

Tiggy and Frigg have you found that an issue? I can see that with the toddler in the back it's not so bad as you can get them to help out a bit by lifting arms up etc, but what about access to a little one in the back (in or out of the cocoon)? Is it possible do you think to be able to lift baby out without child in front seat getting out? What about taking the cocoon bit out with sleeping baby in (we live in a second floor flat, no lift, so pram is left downstairs in lobby)?

Thanks again for all of your advice - very much appreciated!

Neither Frigg or I have a little one any more :(
I have never really thought about it either. I don't think it will be an issue lifting the cocoon in and out, but doing the cocoon clips up maybe. It is a good arms stretch to the bottom of the seat. I guess it depends how tall you are too. I can reach in to do the harness buckle up but it's a PITA and I don't bother any more for my toddler. Her feet are 'stuck' until I help her get out so she won't go anywhere (she's got huge feet!). Do you just detach the two clips to remove the cocoon? It's a while since I watched the demo video. I think it will be harder to lift a laid flat on the seat baby out than one in a cocoon TBH. But then again, I an managed it....with a bigger baby. Like you say, worst case you remove the front child and fold the front seat forwards for easier access.
