Help with my pushchair choice - anyone tried a mother care spin?

I'd sort of narrowed down my pushchair choice to an iCandy cherry, an uppa baby vista, or a baby style oyster which I plan to buy second hand then I spotted the mothercare spin today. It ticks most of my boxes plus it looks great.

Anyone got any experience of one? Or can compare it to my other choices? I checked which and it got 74% compared to 78% for the cherry, 81% for the oyster and 86% for the vista.

Thanks x

I think if you have a search back through this board, there is a thread where one mum had the Spin collapse on her, and I am sure at least one, if not more people also said they had had a similar experience. It would probably be worth your while searching for the thread TBH. I think your other three choices are all good choices and personally I would stick with them. Out of the 3, the Vista is probably the best spec and value for money. Fantastic pushchair, but I personally prefer the Cherry. The Oyster meanwhile is great spec and value for money too but I think the other two are slightly better for the child, but the Oyster folds with the seat on in both directions which can be a plus for some. I think for Spec, that Which? got it correct.

Thanks. I chose those three because of your reviews.

I wouldn't normally be put off by one or two bad reviews but on further inspection there appears to be a lot of faults with the Spin so thanks for the heads up.

I'll keep looking for one of my top three on ebay - been struggling to find one in my price range in my area but have 19 weeks left so should find something soon.

I had a Mothercare my 4 . It was fantastic for the money .

I'm not that informed on the high end pushchairs but it is a copy I think of the I candy cherry
. It came with everything you could possibly need . It was so lovely to push and did everything I wanted it to do . I think the spin is the same ish model but spins rather than you lifting it round ( not a big deal ) the my 4 I think has been superseeded by another model and is on offer at the moment for around £300. I would buy another one in a heartbeat but I prefer a stroller now ds is bigger .

Maybe it's a copy of the peach . Not sure but it's very similar to one buggy a friend had that was 3 x the price of mine .

I have a Spin. Any specific questions?

Try Gumtree as well. I've seen quite a few iCandy Cherries come up in my area on there.

I don't think there's much of a second hand market for Uppababy's becuase there seem to be fewer around. Or maybe they're just rare in in my area. I considered it and really liked it but it was just a bit big and bulky for my needs. Ticked every other box though.

Milk, have you had any problems with your spin? How long have you had it? I know people tend to post reviews only if they love or hate something but all the reviews I've read so far have been about brakes jamming, the wheels buckling and that one where it collapsed with their baby in it.

It looks lovely though and I've found one for sale near me about 7 mths old, being sold as needs a double.

Sorry for late reply.

As for the problems you mentioned, I have never had those problems.

Op, I can also say I've not encountered any of the issues...infact the only issue I've ever had is that the basket is a bit crap!

I have two friends who have Spins. Both say how huge and heavy it is. One now uses a stroller pretty much all the time (I can't remember the last time I saw her use her spin, maybe 8 months ago). The other says she can't afford to buy something new but she really doesn't get on with the spin at all.
One point worth noting is that neither of these friends have a car so find it huge on buses. But I've also had one of them put their spin in my boot (which is enormous and I can usually easily get 2,3 or even 4 pushchairs in there) and we couldn't get it in with my pushchair.

I've also just looked up the spin's dimensions and am surprised to read it's 58cm wide, it seems a lot bigger than that.

I have an oyster and find it great in most ways tbh, I'd definitely recommend it. But also look at the Mutsy Evo as it's very very similar to the Oyster but a higher spec.

I also hear wonderful things about the Vista and have been tempted to try one. But it's a bit wide for me. 60cm is about my limit before a pushchair feels wide.

I had the spin from birth, I think the fold and the spin concept is great but the seat unit is narrow and not very comfy/padded. I now use a maclaren stroller as its easier when out and about and my spin is in the loft. Only really great for the first 5 months. I think you could get a better pushchair for the same money
