How to sell a pram?

After being lovingly used for a year, my bugaboo bee now needs a new home. I just wondered if anyone here has any advice/tips on how to sell? I have tried listing on gumtree as the fees on ebay are extortionate I think but have had lots of timewasters.. How did you sell you used prams?

Ebay fees are high, but often worth it to get more. Try the Pushchairs selling board here as linked to above this post.

How much do you want for it? Smile

splashymcsplash · 15/04/2012 23:49

Tiggwunkle

Didn't mean for me but thanks. If you sell at a bargain they go quick on eBay and while you will pay fee's it's quicker. Gumtree and preloved are pretty good too

splashymcsplash · 16/04/2012 00:11

Thank you, I've just put it on preloved. Had lots of interest on gumtree, but people asking silly things like will you swap it for x/y/z pram when I have said I am selling due to pram excess! I don't need a quick sale at all, I'm sad to see it go!

I loved my bee, Sad sadly we only have SN buggy left in the house, all others are too small now

suzie38 · 16/04/2012 08:35

I've only had success selling mine on ebay.

lagoonhaze · 16/04/2012 08:40

You just missed a free listings weekend which would have saved listings fees.

Facebook buy and sell sites a very popular in our area.

Local paper do free listings

Shop ads / you may get lucky

GwendolineMaryLacey · 16/04/2012 08:43

I'm going to put all of dd2's things on FB as and when she outgrows them. It seems to be very popular at the moment and works well. I've got an iCandy Apple that I'm steeling myself to sell

The only other advice I would say with advertising it is meet somewhere public or if someone is interested give them a choice of three dates and times and don't turn down a date/time saying you are at work/not in. Just say that's not a good date and time for us.

splashymcsplash · 17/04/2012 08:12

Thank you for all the advice. I may need to grin and bear it with the ebay fees, but will give it a little more time first to see how it goes.

Unless you live in a big city, then be prepared to courier it (at buyer's expense) or you will loose loads of potential bidders. I sent s P&T Sport recently for £15 with senditnow.com

splashymcsplash · 17/04/2012 10:16

thank you bikerunski I live in London so there should be lots of buyers around. I'm reluctant to courier it as I prefer that someone sees it first so they are happy with it, and I think it just makes it simpler.

Do not accept paypal only cash on collection. There is a common scam going around where the buyer comes and collects and reverses paypal pymt and paypal always sides with buyer regardless if any proof you may have they collected it.

BikeRunSki · 17/04/2012 19:32

Ah yes, London is indeed a big city!
