Does the front seat recline much? I can't seem to tell from the pictures.

If I had a three year old and a newborn, would this be suitable?

Thanks.

I would say that it would suit your age gap well to be honest and give you flexibility.

The baby starts out in the rear part of the pushchair in the cocoon and if it outgrows the cocoon, then simply flat in the rear under blankets until 6 months old. By which time your 3 year old would be 3.5 years old and maybe walking more, or hopefully be sensible enough not to poke or pull at the baby when reclined in the front. The front recline is not flat, but there are several inches of slack on the front seat straps to be able to recline the seat. How far you go really depends on the head position of the baby, but also how near you feel happy with the baby near the toddler. I do have to restrain my toddler from stroking her brothers head in the front, or hugging him round the sides.

Let me show you two photos. The first one shows the space between the two children . The second one shows the amount of strap you have to release at the sides. So if you imagine you can release the strap to the full extension which is probably 2 inches or so, then that actually does give a good recline. It does end up with the seat near the toddler in the rear but there is still room for the toddler.

In some ways I prefer a 6 month old to have a flatter recline, but tandems are compromises whatever you get, and I did a lot of soul searching and realised that pushchairs like the Quinny Zapp are suitable from 6 months and a baby can actually sleep quite well sat up even though its not ideal in a Zapp. The +One has far more recline that the Zapp! The +one is a great off roader, its a neat package, it converts from tandem to single, even in tandem mode it still looks like a single, its great for carrying tons of shopping home. Dont forget that if your toddler is not in the +One then you can in theory easily convert the +One into a full lie flat seat recline for a baby whilst your toddler walks or is at nursery. I say in theory because you need an extra strap but I wont tell you about that right now. Its easy to slide the spare seat down the back of the front seat or put it in the basket. But I find the front seat recline on its own is more than enough for my youngest to nap.

I think the +One is a really useful pushchair.
