Any news on the Oyster Max

I am getting backache getting my P&T Explorer in and out of my high car boot.

I a thinking about selling it and getting a different tandem. I need one that can turn in to a single because as a childminder I have different aged children on different days.

Anybody heard any more news about e Oyster Max, when it's going to be released and details bat weight etc? I think this ne might work for me

Or does anyone have any other suggestions?

The best we have for the Oyster Max is this summer. But I am not even sure at present if it will be at Harrogate....I was told that one of the new Babystyles wasn't going to be there but I am hoping its not the Max....we will find out more at the weekend.

The new Peach Blossom is released this weekend and that is definitely worth a look :)))

I don't earn that much as a childminder, lol!!!

I need one with a light frame, that I can take both seats off to make it lighter so it won't hurt my back.

Any other ideas?

Kidz Kargo Duellette if you don't have any under children 6 months (or wait for the new version that I believe will take newborns). The current Peach Blossom second hand if you have one under 15 monthsish? The Pear? B-Dual but it's a fair chunk even without the lower seat. Uppababy Vista with Rumble Seat if the oldest doesn't nap.

I like the look of the Uppababy Vista, especially with the piggy back option as I could potentially have a 6 mth old, 15 mth old and an 18 mth old by Christmas.

The only downside is that it comes with the carrycot which I won't need. Is there anywhere hat sells just the pushchair?

The B-dual is too chunky for me as I need to get the pushchair in and out of the car a lot during the day.

One of the good things about the B Dual is how easy it is to fold/unfold and it stays in one piece with both seats on. I find that really useful. To open it you just unlatch it, pull the handle to open and then lift the bottom seat up. Very quick and easy!

Tiggywunkle · 23/03/2012 18:07

I dont think the Vista is much smaller than the B-Dual TBH!! Its a pretty large tall fold!
The Rumble seat on the Vista is absolutely no good if a child is likely to nap and looking at your age group, I would be surprised if they didn't nap at some point when in a pushchair. The Rumble Seat is really really upright.
If they dont nap, then its a fab option and the piggyback gives you good options although again, I wouldn't put a child younger than 2 or even 2.5 onto a buggy board.

Thanks Tiggy
I haven't seen one in the flesh, but looking at the photos it didn't look as bulky as the B-dual.

I mainly need it to get from the car into school and toddler groups. These are new kiddies coming so I don't know what their routines are going to be like.

Think I will have to wait until the Oyster Max comes out to see what that's like.

Do you know how much the B-dual frame is on it's own. It might be an option to be able to take the seats off and lift the frame on it's own, but I can't find the weight of frame on its own.

The best I can do (and I even got the manual and catalogue out to look!) is 13kgs for the frame with main seat on. The lower seat weighs 2.6kgs so I would imagine the upper seat is at least 1kgs heavier, if not more??

twojues · 24/03/2012 11:14

Thanks Tiggy.
That should make the frame about 10kg, which is lighter than the P&T.

So now it's between Oyster Max, Uppababy Vista and the Kidz Kargo Duellette and perhaps the B-Dual.

Babystyle aren't being very helpful about the Oyster Max at the moment. Hopefully after the baby show this weekend they may make an announcement.

I would seriously discount the Vista if the Rumble seat child is likely to fall asleep. I thought my then approx 18 month of would be ok for a short walk, but he fell asleep and the head loll was soooo alarming that I have never moved so fast to swap the children around.

Fingers crossed we know more about the Max after the weekend. My pencil has been sharpened :)

twojues · 24/03/2012 17:00

Thanks Tiggy.
I'm not sure whether the child will fall asleep as I won't be doing lots of walking with the pushchair, only from the car in to school distance, I don't have the child yet so can't say.

Please let me know as soon as you hear something about the Oyster Max.
