silvercross sleepover

does anyone have one of these on either classic or linear chassis? how practical would it be to lift carrycot off to take into house, then fold chassis? I like the pram but have a narrow doorway and hall so this is only way of using a "proper pram", other narrow travel systems and pramettes dont look as robust for the amount of walking and shopping etc that i do, (dont drive and live in a town). Any other pram suggestions welcome.

You can pick these up very very cheaply secondhand. We initially bought the whole package from Ebay for just £40 as the people were emigrating and it is a lovely pram. But we sold it on when I realised that it wasn;t going to be practical for us. We live on the first floor and there was just no way I could get it up and down by myself. I bump our Maclaren up easily enough by it's wheels, but that weighs nothing. The silvercross is pretty heavy, and the brake bar got caught on each and every step, locking the wheels. It's also pretty bulky folded. But if I had a house where I could just wheel it in I'd probably have kept it as it is a very good pram for walking. I don't drive either and liked the huge basket and wheels and the fact it felt so robust. But robust also means heavy imo. We've ended up with a secondhand Bugaboo frog, which is what I had for ds, and it does pretty much the same thing, but in a much lighter package, with big bouncy rear wheels. It was also a steal, under £100.
