Cheapish single, suitable from birth, v.small fold, and tall handles???

Now I finally have my double choice sorted, thanks to Tiggy and Hypatia.

I have a new mission, the new car has arrived and there is not much room when all the seats are up. So for days out we will need one or possibly two singles for an under one and a one year old.

They must fold up really small, to fit in the boot, roofbox and be stored at home if needs be. I already have a B-Dual and Cameleon at home so it's already looking a bit like a pram shop as it is.

DH is 6"4 so needs some height in the handles to push comfortably.

Price is an issue as have bought the B-dual brand new and don't want to sell the cam just yet, but I don't mind second hand for the singles.

Thanks in advance!

Maclaren techno-goes from birth and
Folds up small/is light. I know there is a lot of Maclaren snobbery but dd1 was fine in it and I have a lot more time for way it's lasted , does everything than the bloody bugaboo I bought for dd2. Twice the price and in after a month for new chassis..Hmm

If your budget is low, Zeta Vooom?

Have you looked at the Baby Jogger City Mini? It folds very flat rather than small, which should work well in your boot. They're great pushchairs, but they're from around £170 new and from £70ish second hand. I'm not sure if that'll be too much.

I had a Chicco Liteway once which was very good for an umbrella stroller and looks prettier than most too. Wink You can buy them for around £40 second hand.

Thanks all.

I had a techno for DS1, I thought they were only suitable from 6 months though.

Will google the Vooom.

I like BJCM and the flat fold would be good.

Have discovered today there is a 2nd hand pram stall on the market here so going to check that out tomorrow. My friend got a Quinny zapp for £20.

If you can get a bargain on a second hand BJCM that would probably be better than a new, cheaper stroller.

I've got a Zeta Vooom and it is fantastic for the price, but nowhere near as good as a BJCM. It's like a rip-off Maclaren, high handles which is great for me, huge hood with window, 5 point harness, comfy for LO, umbrella fold, auto lock. Comes in a range of poptastic colours :), think it might be a bit cheaper on ebay than amazon.

www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_trkparms=65%253A3%257C66%253A2%257C39%253A1&rt=nc&_nkw=zeta+vooom&_sc=1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_sop=12&_sc=1

I also have a BJCM (and a Sola Blush) and unsurprisingly there is a huge difference in quality.

Trying to justify it to myself as the Vooom being a 'holiday' stroller but I will probably have to sell something!

Is the Vooom similar quality to the O'baby umbrella strollers?

Not sure as I haven't seen an O'baby, looking at pictures the hood seems a lot better on the Vooom - the Zoom is similar to a Maclaren but the wheels are noticeably different. It seems sturdy enough but I haven't had it long enough to test its durability. There are generally good reviews on Amazon. I would say for £50 it is a really good buy, I guess you get what you pay for and it is a quarter or a third of the price of a Maclaren but I would say it is more than a qaurter/third of the quality -hope that makes sense?
