Have 2nd hand Bugaboo chameleon - need a few extras - advice welcome!

I've just bought a 2nd hand bugaboo chameleon, and there are a couple extra 'bits' I think I might get - the Maxi Cosi car seat adaptor for example.

Also - I have the carry cot and toddler seat. DC3 is due end of June/ beginning of July - do I need a cocoon? Was thinking I'll just get the cosy toes for the toddler stage.

Advice gratefully received!

I have a spare maxi cosi car sear adaptor set. Pm me if you want it.

I never knew there was such a thing as a cocoon for the carry cot. When dcs were newborn I did think they rattled around in there initially but I don't think I would have invested in a cocoon because of that. The footmuff has been brilliant - if mostly to catch toys, snacks, beakers etc from falling onto road! The rain cover is good but the canopy umbrella was a waste of time. Ds though it wad funny to keep snapping it off which often ended in innocent passers by getting spiked.

You shouldn't need the cocoon at least through the summer, but you may want one by September. But its not essential and I certainly wouldnt use it for overnight sleeping. TBH its meant for the Bee and I would worry about the air flow around the baby using it inside a carrycot. I just added sheets and blankets as necessary. But the cocoon did last us ten months in another pushchair so it's not a bad investment and is really comfy. You can roll down the top for summer.

OP I have a Cameloen for DC4 who is also due in June and I'm not planning to use a cocoon in the carrycot, hopefully he'll be comfy enough with just a blanket.

BlueAndRedMakePurple · 12/03/2012 21:16

Or MrTumbles you can PM me if you like, just let me know how much you want for them.

Sorry, another dull bugaboo accessory question for you cameleon owners: does the raincover fit both the carrycot and toddler seat? I just assumed one raincover did both 'settings' (I've had a P&T doubles kit for years, and it fits whatever combo you have pram set up for). Please put me out of my pregnancy-induced dithering...

After helpful feedback above, am not going to bother with cocoon. Now wondering about whether I need a seat liner. I am usually quite a decisive person, honest... :)

Yes the raincover fits both. Well I say fits.....its a bit tight from what I've heard.

I've always used seat liners on my prams, you can whip them off and wash them when they are covered in greggs sausage roll crumbs and fruitshoot ricecake and other glorious food!

Thanks Blueand Red - think you have sold me on seatliner and on no need for cocoon. Good luck with DC4 in June.

I have a Cameleon until DC4 arrives, I love it to bits.
DC3 was born in mid December in the snow and we used a Wallaboo baby leaf wrapper nest to keep him snug in the carrycot, but I wouldn't think you would need one in June.

The Summer(brand name not season!) universal sunshade is much better than the official Bugaboo silver sunshade or the Bugaboo parasol for the carrycot, not sure how it works with the toddler seat though.

The breezy hood is quite nice for the summer but not essential, I picked mine up for a fiver on ebay though.

The raincover is a major PITA, it is very tight fitting and takes a while to fit properly. You can get a generic zip opening raincover on Ebay to fit the carrycot, and I find that unless the rain is torrential then the hood comes down really far to cover DS now he is in the toddler seat, I just chuck the raincover over in really heavy rain and don't bother fitting the bottom.

The cupholder is annoying, I can't fit out the house with it on and nearly knocked a toddler over with it.

I bought two spare mattress covers from bagabottle for the carrycot which were very handy or my friend uses a pillowcase for hers.
