Buggies On A Plane!

Hi ladies,

Advice would be much appreciated please! I have a 22 month old and a 7 month old, and my usual pushchair is a Peach Blossom (which I adore).

However much as it would love to come on holiday abroad with us later this year, I have told it that it has to stay at home and feed the cats while we're away.

Could anyone recommend a compact, light, double buggy to take? Ideally one that we/grandparents could also use back home too ( GPs still utterly incapable of assembling the Peach despite multiple lessons).

I'm not a mountain trekking type, more of a shopping centre and poolside holidaymaker, so it doesn't have to be an all terrain SUV type monster....

The Baby Jogger City Mini Double has caught my eye, is this a goer? Does it matter how old a model it is, as realistically I'm going to have to buy secondhand to sneak it past my DH.

Or would 2 singles be more practical?

Thanks in advance.....

Sorry no help but my immediate thought when seeing the thread title was

"oh a sequel to Snakes on a Plane' Grin

FlamingGallah · 06/03/2012 15:50

Funny you should say that, I'm sure that several other passengers will be muttering "Get those mther fing toddlers off this mther fing plane!" if they have the misfortune to be sat next to us :o

I think I would buy two Maxi Cosi Noas :) Fab little pushchair. They freestand eg in a restaurant. Two can easily be pushed by one person if necessary. They stack eg in the car. You can sell one when you don't need it. They are easy to put up and down one handed. there's some storage space and an take bags on the handle well. There is quite a deep recline and fairly good hood.
But if you prefer a double then I would get a BJCM for travelling.

I was going to suggest the BJCM double, get second had if you'll only use it for the holiday really. The newer ones have a more upright seat, but if that doesn't bother you, go for the cheaper one.

Plus the BJCM has a fantastic hood that is great for protecting DC from the sun, easy to fold and a dream to push.

Thanks Tiggy, I've never even heard of that one, shall google it.

What's the BJCM like for getting through doorways? I've never used a side-by-side before

Note to self...do not google prams. I have seen a little bug thing called a Quinny Yezz which goes in a backpack like some kind of Ninja Pram on the advert. The woman is wearing it on her back and leaping across buildings.

I could do that if I had a pram like that.

I have an expensive pram. I love my expensive pram. I do not need a new expensive pram(s).

Repeat as necessary

The BJCM should be fine for doorways but it does depend here you are going :)
Lol re the Yezz - it's so expensive for what it is and you don't even get a raincover. The Noa is such a useful pushchair :)

pramsgalore · 06/03/2012 16:37

i have a noa and they are fab little compact pushchair, it lives in the corner, unnoticed next to my larger fleet Grin they are so compact and light and lovely to push

FlamingGallah · 06/03/2012 17:05

Bummocks. I shall have to put my dreams of NinjaHood away and go and look at this Noa then.

Bloomin expensive though! And nothing bargainacious on ebay either.

Do John Lewis stock them?
