Hip and knee really bad, Maclaren hurting lots, and have only tiny budget so is a Zapp any good for a large todler? Don't need recline, but worried handles too low - am 5ft 8

Thanks

Handles will be far too low. I would look for a cheap City Mini (or maybe even a Micro??)

It will definitely be too low. It feels a bit low to me at 5'4". I also don't think it's that great to push and it gets stuck between paving slabs and things.

How tiny is your budget? Were you looking at a really cheap second hand Zapp?

ImpYCelyn · 27/02/2012 14:44

I can't use my Zapp now that I've got SPD, it's far too low and I'm 5'7. I've swapped to the Maclaren, which still isn't great. I also don't like using it outside of shops really (it's our car pram).

I was looking at a really cheap Zapp - hopefully no more than about £50. I have had the BJC Micro and I found it far too heavy to turn around corners, possibly the mini would be better. We have big cambers on pavements here though and 3 wheelers have a tendency to run away, and trying to keep them straight is super painful.

Thanks for your help, I think the answer is getting him to use the blinking micro scooter we bought him!

In that case I'd get a Micralite FastFold. The older ones go very cheaply on eBay, they're light to push, have a slight recline, fold easily, freestand when folded, the handles can twist so that you can have them in the most comfortable position for you and the big air tyres will make it esier going over any rough ground. It would be a much better opion than a Zapp, but as with the Zapp, you can't hang much off the handles without it tipping as it's back heavy.

Have a look to see if there are any near you oneBay. :)

Thanks for that - there's one in Derby for £20 BIN but he won't post, I emailed him and he said no unless it doesn't sell - but sure it will for that price. Will keep my eyes peeled though .

Thansk again

You're welcome. Also have a look on Gumtree and Preloved. :)
