Pushchairs
Pushchair with a higher weight limit? I need a tank.

We are looking for a easy folding buggy for our 9 month old. We want something that has a weight limit over 15kg, as if he stays on his growth curve he will be over that limit at about 18 months. I know they only have that limit as they are tested to that weight but I am concerned if we use it until my son is 2 and a half he could be significantly over the weight limit.
The only brand I can find is Phil and Teds which are very expensive and seem to be made to be a double, which we know we won't need.
Anyone else got a big baby? What did you do?

I doubt very much he'll weigh that much at 18 months. My ds is 4 months away from being 4 and still doesn't weigh quite that much. For an easy folding buggy, go for a Maclaren. Ds fits comfortably in his Techno XT.

Mountain Buggy, Bugaboo, iCandy and Baby Jogger have high limits for some pushchairs.

I wouldn't worry just yet.
Both of our ds's have been on the 98th percentile at that age, but once they (finally) got moving they dropped down and are both now about the 50th percentiles.

Last weigh in he was quite a bit above the 99.6% line. He has been crawling for a few weeks, so he might drop down the centiles once he has been going a bit longer or when he learns to walk I guess. Its just the current tank doesn't really fold and so takes up most of the boot, which will be a challenge when we attempt to go on holiday in June.
Thanks for the Hypatia. Looks like I will have to find something second hand at those prices...
Are 3 wheelers easy to drive? I live in a 'quaint' town which has narrow pavements with various obstacles including wobbly old people.

maclaren techno xt, my large 4 year old still uses it and she was 98 centile and got fatter as she walked! she's 3 stone now and it's still a reasonable push on the rare journeys that are too far for walking

Just to say don't be banking on the weight loss, my DS was 18kg at 17m - started off on 99.6 centile and still there aged 6. Urban detour was my bedrock - cheap as chips on ebay
