Hi,

Just wondering if anyone can helps with the above. I am presuming , maybe incorrectly that the footmuff would be too warm for a summer newborn on the lie flat seat. Do I need a carrycot due to the time of year ?

I used it more regularly from about 8 weeks (DD born end of May), but I did use it a handful of times before then. Just make sure it's on the really bottom setting so it's completely flat. Mine always looks like it's on the bottom one, but it has one more notch after that.

The cosytoes is really, really warm in winter - DD can get away with just a cardigan and hat when she's in it. The apron bit that fits over the bar won't necessarily be too warm in summer, but it will help to keep any blankets/toys in, in case you're worried about using them.

So what did you use up to 8 weeks? I don't think the system comes with an apron anymore - did yours ??

Thanks

You can use it with a sheepskin liner and a light blanket? I have never used the apron, it was too fiddly, and a lovely pram blanket is much prettier

I had the carrycot, but hardly used it - we used the lie-flat car seat or the main seat on it's lowest setting, so the bucket carseat and carrycot went largely un-used.

Thanks - do where do u get a sheepskin liner? Is it a special one. I have already ordered a car seat but was wondering if the lie flat one would have been better??

Do you think baby will be fine on the lie flat seat then ??

Thanks

I think they will be fine, as long as you keep it on the lowest setting and get a sheepskin liner to make it cosier around his/her little body - I don't think the seat looks very inviting without one, plus they can be used in summer or winter.

It's not Britax, but John Lewis does a brilliant one which fits into the seat/car seat/carrycot, and I'll be buying a second one for our next baby.

Thanks, that Sounds like a good tip x

She was in the lie flat car seat before that. I wanted to get as much use out of it as possible, we'd spent enough on it Smile. But I was more than happy to use the pushchair on it's bottom setting though. I just put another thin blanket down first.

The apron came with it (bought in 2010) - Fred (or Ginger Confused) is right, it's really fiddly to put on. Once they grow a bit, there's no room for their legs with it on either. It's rather pointless acutally.

We got the lie flat car seat as we do a lot of long distance driving (and we took her to France at 8 weeks old), so we wanted a comfy place for her that we didn't have to keep stopping for airing breaks if we didn't have to (obv we stopped if she needed feeding or nappy changed) so we could get most of our journeys done while she slept.

It was a bit of a pain getting it in and out of the car (a little bit fiddly, but nothing major once you're used to it), and once she started growing, it got too heavy for me to carry up and down the stairs to the flat and all the way to the car, so we just left that installed in the car and used the pushchair lying flat instead.

FWIW, I still use the B Smart every day that I'm at home. It's been a brilliant pushchair.

Thank you both , that really helps. B smart is on order and I think I will leave the carrycot and get a liner as you suggest Smile

I used mine from birth, didn't bother with a sheepskin or anything, just plonked him in (cruel mother), he was fine with a lightweight blanket over his legs (last summer). I took a padded headrest thing off his bouncy chair actually, just to stop his head rolling around when we went over bumps :) I did also put the car seat on the frame more often when he was very little coz he used to fall asleep in the car and I didn't want to wake him by transferring. Still using the pram now - my mum has given me money to buy a lightweight stroller and I really don't want to coz I like it so much! The only gripe I have with it is that the brakes stick a bit sometimes, so just double check that it has locked. Enjoy!
