Buggy board

Hello! I'm expecting my second baby in May, when my son will be 22 months old. I'm thinking of getting a buggy board instead of investing in a double buggy. Are they any good? If so, which make would you recommend? Thank you!

Personally I would invest in a double pushchair. Its much easier and also will your son still not be likely to nap?

I borrowed one to try out and it was awful. I had to stand unnaturally far from the pushchair and it really made my back hurt to walk like this. And DS was falling of it when we went up hills. It is very hilly where we live (Last of the Summer Wine Country).

It will also only work on a pushchair with separate handles (rather than a single "handlebar") because your older child's head has to go somewhere.

If you look on Lascal's website, they give you a estimate of how well a Buggy Board is likely to fit on your model of pushchair.

I have 37 month between mine, and I got a 2nd hand P&T. DS still likes to nap in the day, and I can happily walk for miles. It is also handy if we all go out all day.

The Phil & Ted one is good as it can convert back to single if you want to. My 20 month boy won't stand on our board by the way.

My experience of a buggy board was awful. I would only recommend that you do not buy one! Get a double pushchair, ideally an inline rather than side by side. There are do many styles available now for every budget and 2nd hand ones are for sale everywhere for a bargain.

I loved my buggy board but DS was 3yo when DD was born, so didn't need to sit down or nap, so it was perfect. I have a Quinny and the Lascal Buggy Board fitted brilliantly and didn't interfere too much with me walking behind, providing the buggy handle was fully extended.

However, friends with smaller age gaps between DCs found double buggies more suitable, so it depends on how much walking/napping etc your DD does!
