Can anyone advise me on selling my quinny?

I bought a second hand (but barely used) quinnybuzz for my dd 6 months ago & I hate it! Apart from using with the car seat which really is the only time I use it happily. Its too big & hard to push. I'd like to get something else although have a dh who (i'm sure like many) thinks its absolutely fine.
Problem is i have broken the extending handle bit, all the rest is fine, in pretty good condition. Do you think i would I be able to sell it on eBay or should I split it and sell it as separates? (got a carrycot & newborn seat unit)
Anyone else sold a broken pram?!

I'll whisper this.... sell it on netmums. For some unknown reason Quinny's are really popular and seem to sell quickly. It's only the extending handle bit? I would sell it all together as I don't know if carrycots sell that well? I too bought a quinny second hand and flogged it on pretty quickly too!

Thanks..... Will someone want a pram with a broken handle though? It Still folds up but just can't fasten the wire to hold it together, although it stays & really doesn't need it. All the rest is fine but I suppose all I can do is try.
If u don't mind me asking did you feel you got a decent price? My hubby is so blooming tight, he'll want a good return!!!

I'd sell it as one piece too. Do you mean that the handle no longer extends? And have you checked it's not easily fixable?

What are you planning to get next? Do you need some advice/recommendations?

passmeanotherpineapple · 17/02/2012 22:55

Yep I've checked but not fixable. I think I've snapped the wire inside so it's stuck on fully extended. I'm so cross with myself for doing it.
Really stuck on my next pushchair move now though, I quite wanted the m&p sola before my little one was born but picked the quinny, now regretting it big time, was thinking of a 2nd hand sola but seems daft as they're really quite similar & i'll still need to get a buggy/small folder.
Any recommendations? Had a look at a few umbrella types but I'd like a rear facer though as I walk loads & like chatting to dd, & it needs to fold easily on one piece!

If you telephoned Dorel, (the manufacturer) you could probably get it repaired. It might be worth a try...at least you could sell with details and a repair price if you didn't have the time to sort it out yourself.

Pass I had almost the exact same dilema. The only answer I could find to my pram woe, and was advised the same by the nice pram ladies on MN, is a bugaboo bee. Its the only parent facing one that folds down in one unit and is small and light like a buggy (ok not quite as light but close enough). I picked one up 2nd hand from netmums for £170 with cosytoes, rain cover and car seat adaptors. Also worth checking gumtree. Ebay ok if you can find one local. The seat and hood can be stripped to be washed easily if you do get a 2nd hand one.

Re: Quinny, I bought mine 2nd hand for £75, sold it for £95. It was in reasonable condition, couple of tiny rips in the windows in the hood, corner torn on rain cover. I stripped all the seat unit and hood, bags, shoppnig basket etc... and gave them all a good wash. Frame was scratched (as expected given its age). Newer ones on my local boards seem to sell for about £150ish. Is it the closing catch rather than the extending handle that's broken?

The Sola isn't much smaller than a Bee when folded. I have the two side by side in my hall at present. Yes the Bee is a little smaller, but not by much. The Bee handle extends further than you think. The Oyster is fairly neat folded but is more of a chunk. The Urbo folds as quite a chunk too. The smallest I can think of is the Quinny Zapp Xtra but that is a 2 piece fold and the seat is still fairly long and the chassis is a piglet to fold! I have to say I dont think you will get a smaller forward and rear facing pushchair than any of these until the Versa comes out

Thanks for your advise ladies, it's the extending handle which sometimes jammed, on this occasion was jammed & I had a strop & shook it quite hard & broke it... Oops, apart from that is fine, got lots with it. Carrycot, adapters, footmuff, buzz bag, pump etc gonna get it on gumtree today.
Hmmm next move though is so hard..... What ever I pick will annoy me in some way!
