I have a DD who is nearly 4 and a DS who is nearly 2 and baby no.3 arriving in June. For the first two i used a bugaboo and a sling when DS was young and a buggy board once DD was more capable of walking for longer distances.

I wasn't planning on getting another pram but many of my friends have raves about phil and ted's double buggies are they really that good?? Or would a Malcaren double buggy be easier. When baby arrives will have a 4 yr old a 2 yr old and baby. Ds will still need to have the option of going in the buggy when we are out, so i am thing with a double buggy with a buggy board attached all three children would have someway of resting when we are out on a long day trip. Of these two which do you think is better????

LOL personally I think none of those! But I agree that a double pushchair of some sort will make life easier for you.

I find side by side umbrella folds are heavy to push overall. A more robust side by side like a Baby Jogger City Mini (or GT) double would be much easier to push, or for something bigger look at an Easywalker Duo or TFK Twinner Twist Duo or Baby Jogger Elite etc.
I have to say I am not a Phil&Teds fan - I have tried a few and have had issues with them. If you like this style of pushchair, then take a look at the Britax B-Dual or the iCandy Peach Blossom 2 which will give better space for the children. However most tandems - apart from the Baby Jogger City Select (which is heavy to push) and Jane Powertwin Pro (hmmm I dont think there are any more) wont take a buggy board on the back. But a buggy board should fit to all the side by sides mentioned above, and more.

The beauty of the bigger side by sides like the Baby Joggers is that there is room for an older child to either perch on the seat pad (with the baby strapped in laid flat at the rear of the seat) or on the footplate if there is one.
