sil doesnt drive, has car seat/carrycot for occasional lifts, wants lovely(maybe slighly vintage looking) pram, not too big as lives in small terraced house, maybe one that converts to pushchair but not too important.any ideas? i havent bought a pram for 7 years so useless with advice.

To be honest for classic looking prams, I would send your SIL off to look through the Silver Cross website. You say she has a small terraced house so probably a Heritage collection pram wont be suitable, but maybe something like this? Silvercross have another chassis in the 2011 catalogue called the Classic but its not on the website and I am struggling to find it for sale. So it may have been discontinued or revamped for 2012? I know generally Silver cross prams are heavier than the average pushchair, but if your SIL wants something more traditional and for walking with then they could suit her?

We have the Stylo by Bebecar - quite vintage looking. Bebecar have a range and had another model that was very vintage in style.

Emmaljunga also do traditional looking prams and there's the Bumbleride Queen B, but it would need to be imported and may be too big.

If it needs to be really narrow, then there are Mamas and Papas ranges that are narrow but still fairly traditional looking.

One thing worth noting is that resale value of this sort of pushchair is very low compared to the original price. If she was willing to buy second hand, she would probably find a bargain one.

I live in a Victorian terrace and have a bugaboo cameleon. It's not only narrow, it has a very tight turning circle which is fab when trying to get out of our hallway. It's expensive but as I don't drive, I wanted something light and sturdy that I could walk everywhere with
