icandy strawberry, peach or Uppababy Vista?

Hi, I've narrowed down to 3, the icandy strawberry, the peach or the Uppababy vista.

I like the fold-down capacity of the strawberry and it's narrower (i have a tight space to get in my front door and little space in the hall to park). I will have pram as much just walking as I would have to put in the car, so space is a key thing for me, and being able to put it away in the house when not in use.

The main thing that's making me question strawberry is length. I've heard reports that people are growing out of the peach early, and the strawberry is 3 cms shorter than the peach. On the other hand, I was thinking that when my LO gets to 2.5 years old, I may just get a cheap fold up maclaren instead of a bigger pram.

The uppababy vista is longer, but there's just something about the weld quality and size that's putting me off, a bit wider and longer

Any views?

Ok, I have owned two of these - the Peach and the Vista but have also got photos of my DD in the Strawberry. So I will link to these first in the hope they can help you. My daughter is around 2.5 years old in the iCandy photos - the outfit is the same so they aren't far off in date!! The Vista ones are a couple of months later. She is on the 91st centile in height - so not small either!

Strawberry 2
Peach on the same day as the Strawberry but not very good!

Peach 3

To be honest, I think looking at these photos retrospectively, I think any would be good choices. Which you buy would be personal preference. I have had two Peaches and love them. I like the chunky feel, chassis etc. But the Strawberry has a lot going for it with the one piece memory fold, punnet storage etc. Meanwhile I could not fault the Vista at all - but personally I liked the rounded look of the iCandy's to the tall slender look of the Vista. Both the Vista and Peach can have a second seat added which may be worth considering if you want another child - but equally if another is planned, then think about the age gaps and seat suitability of the two add on kits.

You may well swap and get a Maclaren later (at least consider a Baby Jogger CIty Mini Wink) but hopefully none of these are too huge that you would want to do that!

hi - all

tiggywinkle - thanks for the pics, they really help! looks like the peach is actually shorter than the strawberry? thanks for the baby jogger tip, but I've always ruled out any pram with 3 wheels, I've seen too many topples! also not great when you've got 2 large steps to the front door of your house for balancing

Kayano would love to hear about how you get on today! any niggles

Hi! I'm going to watch this thread with interest as DH and I have come to a similar debate between Strawberry and Vista. Think we are veering towards Strawberry for space saving and we liked the fact you can lift the Strawberry with 1 hand when folded. Also I felt that the carrycot was easier to handle with the handle not being in the hood and I prefer the overall look of it. One thing you might want to know is the John Lewis man told us that the carrycot on the Strawberry isn't 100% flat. It's still suitable for newborn so it didn't worry us and we hadn't noticed, but fyi

I've just set up my strawberry and I love it so much already! It's easy to assemble, fold and carry, it's so so pretty and easy to push Grin

I did notice about the carrycot and not being totally flat but it's barely noticeable and really seems like a non issue. I am very happy with it!

I also noticed the carrycot when i looked at it in the shop. it tilts downwards doesn't it? s'pose that is better than the other way, so blood isn't rushing to babies head. would like to know whether the baby slides downwards though?

We have a Peach and my 18mo ds is a bit too tall for it now (90th percentile) so have ordered a Maclaren.

The Peach has a lot going for it. It's very easy to put up and put away, and is easy to push. It's got a great turning circle. We got a Maxi Cosi car seat and it was very convenient to plop it on top.

A couple of negative things, When it has the carrycot top on it, it's hard to get anything in the basket underneath. With the pushchair top I can slap three bags of shopping in there, but the carrycot top leaves bugger all room. Secondly, now that ds is bigger we have got a Maclaren because lumping about the heavy Peach seemed a bit unnecessary.

All that said, I would still recommend it. It looks great, is really sturdy and decent.

We have the Uppababy Vista in Mica and we couldn't be more pleased with it. Massively recommended for being easy to use, plus I think that it looks very attractive. It's very practical too for storage under the buggy. Big thumbs up.
