Pram advice needed please!

Due in just over 2 weeks with first baby..

Had been counting on using a pram which was very kindly handed down to us, but it's turned out to be a lot bigger than I thought and won't fit through the front or back door of our very small house!

So now frantically looking for a pram, smallness & lightness are key features, also I am tall (5'10) so need one which is not too low either.. Would also like it to be parent facing in pushchair mode.

Any ideas or recommendations? Planning to buy second hand on ebay, could go up to about £250.

Thank you!

Wow, that must be a wide pushchair! Shock

What sort of places are you going to be going with the baby? Eg. Woods, parks, cobbled roads, tight shops/cafes, shopping centres, etc.

This will dictate the compactness and suspension you need.

Hello,

Yes it is huge and our doors are also narrower than average I think!

Live in town, streets are mostly narrow & cobbled in some places, but also live near the countryside so something which could handle grassy terrain would be nice. Though I appreciate this might not be possible! I am really clueless.

I would really like something small, as I don't want to be that person with a huge pram forcing people off the pavements!

I have a sling so if baby turns up early at least I can use that in the meantime.

Thank you for your help!

Honestly, I'm struggling to think of something that would fit every criteria. I would be looking for big rear wheels at least for the cobbles/countryside.

A Babystyle Oyster fits most criteria, but won't be perfect for cobbles. It's only 54cm wide, the average is about 62cm I'd say. You'd have to buy the air tyres for it which are about £25.

Another option is a Bugaboo Cameleon. I have a Gecko which is a basic version of the Cam, but the Cam is 60cm wide whereas the Gecko is 56cm. It's surprisingly good offroad and over cobbles. You can also get snow/all terrain wheels for the front for proper off roading or snow. I'm not suggesting the Gecko because the handle would be too short, but the Cameleon has an adjustable handle.

Also, the Mutsy 4 Rider would work well if you can cope with it being 62cm wide. Apart from that, it would be perfect; four big wheels, very high adjustable handle, big seat, lovely to push, and you can get a huge shopping basket to put on the back of the seat (only when facing away from you) which would hold a week's worth of shopping!

Thank you so much for your help - really like the look of the Mutsy, hadn't heard of that one before..

Will hunt down one of your suggestions on ebay!

Thanks again.
