Am i mad to get rid of BJCM and get something else?? Help!

Basically DD is 2, I'm finding that I don't use my baby jogger city mini that much unless we are on a long walk, and when we go out shopping etc she is usually on reins (she is a runner offer!!!). When we go out she quite often wants picking up so sometimes I end up carrying her or her walking and also pushing the buggy which i find is a bit cumbersome. I will be very sad to see the BJCM go as I have loved it from day one but i wondered if i should get a lighter buggy just for occasional use??? I'm torn as in some ways it seems mad to get a new buggy at this age but i think we do still need one occasionally, any help and advice or suggestions for other buggies would be much appreciated! :)

I would get a Maxi-Cosi Noa. It's very small folded, lightweight but strong, has a pull out handle to wheel it behinnd you when folded, has a recline and takes a toddler very comfortably.

My suggestion as well. Great for older toddlers and pulls along nicely. The fold is probably as easy than the BJCM too. Not too much money either. We use it with our heavy 3 year old.

Yes, you would be crazy. It's the best pushchair ever. I would never, ever replace it (but I might add a rear-facing stroler with bigger wheels and an add on toddler seat...maybe the vista...)

(but we have both a Noa and BJCM!)

Crazy, what is not to love about bjcm? Of got mine second hand as my 'occassional use with a three year old' buggy, although was pg with dc2 at time.

But why push around an empty pushchair when you can pull a small one behind you?

Folding up and dragging behind you is fine if your DD walks for long periods but if she hops in and out it'll be a pain. you've also said she's a bolter so think about how you would fold/unfold without her running off. Then there's what to do if. you have bags / shopping.

The baby jogger is so easy to push one handed, maclaren type pushchairs are probably a bit lighter but with 2 handles they are a devil to push one handed, even empty. It sounds as if you're at the stage where you can't really avoid having an empty pushchair so you may as well stick with the one you know and love.

Ok, the basic difference between a BJCM and a Noa is that one is a pushchair ie sturdy and great for walking for hours with. The Noa is a lightweight stroller. Yes you can walk for hours with it but I wouldn't want to every day. It's an easy peasy one handed push. It's easy to fold - just as easy really as the BJCM - I should have a race with DH to see which is faster. It does have the pull along handle which is great when you need something more discreet - we pulled ours all day on holiday for the toddler to ride home on late at night. The basket is actually more accessible than the BJCM but you can't put anything too heavy in. But you can hang heavy bags off the handle bar and the child can get out and it doesn't tip. The Noa is a more rattly ride whereas the BJCM is near silent. I find the Noa handle too low for me to use every day whereas the BJCM is a little high. They are different creatures. The Noa is my chuck in the car and run into somewhere pushchair whereas the BJCM is a several hours shopping / run around a large supermarket pushchair. The Noa is fine in the local supermarket! In fact I put the BJCM in my car on Friday and am going to swap it back for the Noa because it's easier to fit in my car, the harness is easier (because it doesn't slide) and I got muddy wheels all down me lifting the BJCM into the car. These are minor niggles based on my circumstances and I love my BJCM but they are not the same type of pushchair. Yes the OP may miss her BJCM. But equally a Noa (or Yezz??? But expensive) may well suit.

Thank you! I don't use my BJCM that often but I do think I would miss it terribly! Just seen a chicco liteway which looks nippy, I do like the noa tho. Maybe I need to have 2 buggies! I feel that when we go on long walks the noa might be a bit flimsy. Maybe I'll just have another baby so I can get a double Grin lol!

I think you would miss your BJCM. The Liteway is meant to be good. Every woman should have 2 pushchairs ;) I wouldn't go for a long walk with the Noa to be fair - I would want my BJCM.
As for doubles - thats where the fun begins. I have a Bugaboo Donkey here this week and I am in pushchair heaven....I wish someone had told me months ago to just stop looking and to buy one!!
