icandy peach blossom or icandy pear for 24 month old and newborn?

That's it really. I don't know a lot about the iCandy's but people seem to love them. I am looking for something that can work as a double for about a year max (depends how much my 24 month wants to walk). I use the car a lot so won't need a double for every day use but mainly at weekends when we do longer walks.
Any advice? (I have a phil and teds but want to upgrade to the icandy).
Thanks

I have the peach and am in the same situation as you, needing to updgrade it to a blossom. I've heard there are new converter kits coming out apparently early this year which will improve it, making the seats further apart and the carrycot bigger - so depends when you need it, but is worth waiting for I think. I have really loved the peach, so much easier to push than any others I tried. Having said that, it is heavy to put in the car, but is very easy to put together, if I am out for a whole day I bother to put it in the car, but if just popping out I don't bother and use my car buggy - which is an utter piece of junk and I am wishing it to break!

The new seats are also a bit bigger and better straps - the early ones were v.tight and you had to get an extension - but then I do have a very tall 2 year old!

Mind you, in the same kind of league is the bugaboo donkey - what a name, that could be an option, the out and about is v popular around here too.

The new Blossom kit is likely to be quite a few months yet and won't be available in the UK in the current colours. You could mix and match colours if you wanted to though.

I wouldn't get the Pear because the seats are very close together and if you have them both facing you then the child furthest away has a bad view out and you can't see them. The best seating option is apparently to have the lightest child furthest away meaning that you won't be able to see the baby. The Peach is supposed to be really good as both a single and double. I've got one arriving next week and I'm hoping that I like it enough to sell my single and double psuhchairs. The current Blossom kit has a fairly small back seat that doesn't sit very upright, but you can take out the liner if you need more room for the child. I've actually found that my 16 month old daughter doesn't mind being reclined a bit in the back seat of the B-Dual so I'm hoping she'll be ok in the Blossom seat too.

I agree that the Donkey looks great and has very good reviews. I'd have one if I had the money.

I liked the Pear but the configurations aren't necessarily the best and the front wheels do stick. But I am fortunate enough to have had the Peach Blossom 1 and 2 with a BJCS in between, and there's no doubt the Peach Blossom 2 is fantastic. It doesn't have lots of configurations (parent facing car seat is lovely though) but its an absolute dream to push even one handed. The seats are a big size, good straps, large basket (although access is easiest if you recline the lower child whilst you get in and out). It's just easy to use and I love having the choice of a top quality single or double depending on the outing. People may well grumble that access to the lower child isn't the best, but there are compromises with every tandem pushchair, and ultimately it meets my basic criteria ie it pushes easily with two toddlers in, the children sit comfortably and have a good hood, it fits in my boot with room to spare, is easy to fold and put together and has good basket space. It also looks beautiful too. I wish I had known my BJCS would have only lasted me ten months because I would certainly have kept the PB1. Fantastic pushchair and I can't wait to see the new colours in March.

Just to add, the Pear isn't ad either...just the Peach is easier to manoeuvre. But the Pear is great for walking with. I don't really like the converting carrycots either. Go and have a wander around Best Buggy through the tandem section and the side by side comparisons section (there's a Pear v's Peach Blossom comparison there with the two side by side). Just remember that with the Pear, the carrycot will be in the lower, yellow, smaller seat position and the chances are the baby will stay in that seat as the hoods are fixed, unlike the Peach where the hoods just keep growing upwards.
