Uppababy Vista?

Anyone had this pram or tested it out in person? I LOVE that it comes with a carrycot as opposed to having to purchase, and I LOVE that the seat reverses. The only other pram I'm considering is the Baby Jogger City Elite - I've used one before and loved it, but of course the carrycot is extra.

My main concern is suspension on the Uppababy, have heard the wheels are not as nice as the Baby Jogger so not as comfy for baby? I don't expect to be going over a lot of cobbles so in theory this is really not a big issue, just want bubs to be comfy.

I have known several folks with a Baby Jogger but never anyone with an Uppababy so very difficult for me to go by just reviews on the internet. Anyone with experiences would be extremely helpful Smile

There's loads of fab reviews of the Uppababy Vista on here if you read through the threads.
I have had one and really liked it. I certainly could not fault it. The carrycot is the most beautiful one I have ever seen, the handling is superb, the seat is a good size, the basket is huge. It's a very very good pushchair. I can't help specifically re suspension - it's not something I really notice unless it's bad (so it wasn't bad!) but a few MNs go more off road with their Vistas. All round it's up with the top pushchairs like the Chameleon or iCandys. I have an Elite as well but for a pushchair for a baby, I would rather get the Vista. You can always get a new Baby Jogger GT later Wink Grin

I LOVE it!!! have been though 'lots' of prams nad buggies and it is with out a doubt the best i have ever had and will never be getting another :) it is perfect in everyway :) I have found i better than the icandy and the bugaboos i have had (although icandys have been pretty good!) - much more sturdy and well made and the customer service is fantastic if you ever have a problem :)

i also have one and its fab, one of my best pushchairs, its a great all rounder, i find the suspension great, not as boucy as my mima but still very good, i would highly recomend the vista to everyone Smile

I typed out a long response to your OP at 5.00 this morning after feeding my DD, but then lost connection on phone and hence my post! But I felt I had to come back on today to make sure I told you how great the Vista is, we love LOVE it!
We went for it after reading about it on here and other websites, it is highly recommended by Which? and can see why. Lovely pram. I think it is great value for money as it is comparable to the Bugaboo Chameleon which costs upwards of £700, we paid £539 for the Vista including all the extras (rain shields, sun shades, maxi cosi car seat adaptors) - which all cost more with the Bugaboo.
The carrycot is lovely and the frame is very easy to put up/down, one thing we really liked was the fact that the folded frame stands up so you can put it in your porch without it taking up too much room. Also the carrycot can be used for overnight sleeping which is great if you are planning to travel. If you buy the Vista travel bag and register it online, then they cover you for any damage sustained to the pram on an aeroplane - again great if you are planning on taking it anywhere. The warranty is 2 years.
One disadvantage is that it took a few weeks to arrive, I collected it from the shop on my due date! Apart from that would definitely recommend. Never had a problem with suspension, and we live in a Lancashire mill town with lots of hills and cobbles!

I'm umming and ahhing over this one too... dc2 is due april, when ds1 will be 29m. Can't decide between this with buggy board or a double... Does anyone have any experience of this pram with a buggy board? xx

BrassMonkeyBaubles · 15/01/2012 22:37

I have the vista, it's a gorgeous pushchair. Yes the tyres on the wheels are solid not air, which makes them very firm. However the shock absorbing suspension makes up for this. The wheels themselves are top quality and have the best ball bearings fitted...this means they spin very easily and thus make light work of the heaviest of loads...even uphill! It's the easiest to push most manoeuvrable pushchair I've had. Aside from that the carrycot is sumptuous. The pushchair seat cradles your little one beautifully so your child sits very nicely and it has the most user friendly recline ever (one handed compared to how I used to struggle with bugaboos two handed system!). The shopping basket beneath is cavernous, and I've used it to carry enormous amounts of shopping home (from huge bags of chicken feed or 5 carrier bags of groceries or large oddly shaped Xmas gifts!) or lots of eBay post to the post office!
It's a very practical easy to use luxury stroller at a very reasonable price!

I've used mine with the piggy back board too and it's wonderful to push and so easy to fit. It depends on how far you walk as to whether you'd find this good for a 29m toddler I guess. They are bringing out a click on toddler seat (rumble seat) soon which should be suited to kids up to 15kg I think.

sillyily · 16/01/2012 08:22

Thank you for the tip on the rumble seat, that makes my decision much easier!!

BrassMonkeyBaubles · 16/01/2012 11:19

There is a review at www.bestbuggy.co.uk with pics of an imported rumble seat (from the USA).

BrassMonkeyBaubles · 16/01/2012 11:22

here

Tiggywunkle · 16/01/2012 14:42

The new UK rumble seat will attach slightly differently and I believe be even more upright!!!!

thefurryone · 17/01/2012 10:03

I love my Vista, it is awesome.

Does anyone know when the rumble seat will be available?

BrassMonkeyBaubles · 17/01/2012 10:15

I dont know when the rumble seat will be available. I suggest you email uppababy or ask them on their FB page....

Tiggywunkle · 17/01/2012 10:20

It's supposed to be fairly soon....I think Feb or March - but it's been coming for nearly a year!!! Lol

thefurryone · 17/01/2012 10:58

Thanks I will investigate further. I bought my Vista in February last year and it was coming soon!

fairimum · 17/01/2012 11:03

I was told early feb when I emailed them!

thefurryone · 17/01/2012 12:03

Thanks fairimum I really didn't want to have to facebook them as even I don't know I'm pregnant yet.

sillyily · 17/01/2012 18:13

Does anyone know if the rumble seat can face outward as well as inward?

fairimum · 17/01/2012 21:18

no it is only rear facing!

Tiggywunkle · 17/01/2012 23:09

I preferred the children facing each other though to the rumble seat child facing the back of the seat. You have a perfect view through the very well placed main seat peekaboo window of the rumble seat child!

FriggFRIGG · 18/01/2012 09:20

I have the vista with rumble seat,I use it for the nursery run,it's perfect,as when I drop off DD I in click off the rumble seat, and it fits in the basket!!!Shock

And then I have a single for the way home,
the basket is big enough that I can still fit my changing bag, coats hats jumpers DDs backpack, toys,DDs scooter and about 1 bag of shopping in WITH the rumble seat on top.

Grin

It.is amazing.

It pushes brilliantly, the fabrics are brilliant quality,I particularly love the hood as its sooo thick it protects DS from wind and cold,he looks so snug in there, but it has a huge peekaboo mesh window so during the summer you lift it up and get a good breeze.

I like to have DS facing me in single mode, and facing each other with the rumble seat on. Often DD will scoot half way, jump in the rumble half way,and walk a bit too...and I don't mind as I don't have to carry everything or be walking with a double when I don't need to IYSWIM.

However, the rumble seat simply will not work if your older child still needs to nap.DD fell asleep in it once and fell to the side,I had to prop her up with jumpers!
A recline similar to the p&t verves would be a massive improvement.
but don't buy the verve it's rubbish in every other way

FriggFRIGG · 18/01/2012 09:21

Oh...that was quite long Blush

Tiggywunkle · 18/01/2012 16:56

Great review though :)
