Custom made liner for car seats?

Have used Chunkle Munkle and Snunkie for custom made stuff in the past but CM has closed and wasn't that impressed with Snunkie so I wondered if there were any others I didn't know about.

I want a liner for my brand spanking new Cabrio fix before it gets covered in goodness knows what!

Unfortunately non-brand specific liners aren't safe as they are not crash tested (they may interfere with the way the harness threads so may hide slack) and they generally aren't flame retardant.

They would also invalidate the manufacturer's warranty (and possibly mean that you didn't get an insurance payout if your child was injured in an accident).

You can get spare covers direct from Maxi Cosi so you could have one on, one in the wash (just don't wash the harness as that can wash out the flame retardants) or you could get the cosy toes for your car seat (which would have been tested) and zip the front off.

Oh, I didn't realise that, have only ever used pushchair liners before.

The official cosytoes is the way to go then. I do have a spare cover from the previous MC seat I had but, being such a wimp I could never actually get the cover off Blush and only got that one off because I was chucking the seat so I cut the straps!

Thanks anyway :)

OK, question 2...

I bought an official MC footmuff today. I assume that the headhugger goes on top of (or inside IYSWIM) the footmuff rather than underneath it? The baby plus footmuff hood wouldn't fit inside the headhugger... Confused

Yes, put the head hugger inside the footmuff :)

Tiggywunkle · 10/01/2012 21:33

Or on top of if that's clearer, ie in between the two layers of footmuff!

Great, thank you :) A lot of swearing is usually involved when I try to tackle car seat straps/covers etc so I'm glad I don't have to redo it!

Have a search for Kryshees on here or on Facebook. She makes lovely covers and things.
