I've had my Cameleon for 3.5 years, it has seen us all the way through DS1 and now DS2 and we've never bought anything else.

feelingratheroverwhelmed · 09/01/2012 23:52

Britax Vigour 3 for DS1, now being used for DS2 but have bought a B Dual as DS1 can't be trusted to walk!

Am I the only one who finds it surprising that so many of you have several not exactly cheap prams (for the same child, I mean)? I have a M&P stroller too but it was very very cheap and bought mainly to use if we go over to granny's house.

Er 17 years although not in constant use!

I have a Silver Cross coach built pram, it's in the loft now. It's wonderful. It is big, you can get all the shopping underneath it and everyone comments on how lovely it looks. You don't slouch when you push it. It has a proper brake, that works. Baby lies flat when tiny( if I see another newborn propped up in a buggy I might scream!) It's a full body workout everytime you go out for a walk so great for getting rid of excess baby weight. It doesn't topple over when you put a bag on the handle. Oh and it's built to last.

Can you tell I love it.

McClaren Ryder for 5.5 years, from birth £65 which included footmuff and rain cover.

Has finally given up though so searching for similar with similar price. Can anyone help?

5 year old Mountain Buggy Urban.

Used for 2 yrs 6 mths for DS1, bought a Lascal Kiddy Board for him and put the carrycot back on for the arrival of DS2.

DC3 due to arrive in March (exactly 2 yrs 6 mths again!) so DS2 will take up position on the board and off we go again! Am looking to get a full 7 yrs + from this buggy by the time we're done!

Still in great condition, never had a single problem or puncture, never used any other buggy since I love using this one so much!

We inherited a lovely Maclaren Techno XT in mint condition which my MIL uses and keeps at her house since the MB won't fit in her car anyway.

We do also have a lovely second hand Silver Cross coachbuilt though which is a bit of a showpiece really but lovely for local walks.

I had the same mountain buggy for 6 years and 2 DDs. Did everything except fold up small. Very occasionally, I used a £12 umbrella buggy, but only when it was that or buy a van.

startail · 10/01/2012 01:14

Sod didn't read the thread, there's a more recent mountain buggy fan tooGrin

"Am I the only one who finds it surprising that so many of you have several not exactly cheap prams (for the same child, I mean)?"

I've had 10 pushchairs and my daughter's 15 months. I haven't actually bought anything for nearly 5 months though. I tend to sell them for a similar amount to what I've paid. The biggest loss I've made is £60, and equally the biggest profit I've made is £60. It's actually possible to have pushchair buying/using/selling as a cheap hobby. It's just like handbags-some people like to have a different one every day and others use the same one for years on end.

I've had a bugaboo bee for over a year, dd4 is 3 now and very rarely uses it, can't bring myself to part with it yet though. Have also had a pink p&t sport for at least 2.5 years, it was brilliant when dd4 arrived and dd3 was only 13 mo.

littleducks · 10/01/2012 10:27

I have a maclaren techno xt, we have had it nearly 6 years, it fold easily and us comfy with sheepskin liner, it lies flat too. It's dull, isn't parent facing but dies the job well and is durable. I will be putting it away 'just in case' I have another baby.

I had a phil and teds when I needed a double but was still using maclaren when we went out with car. I hot a refund on the p&t when the fuss about the safety catch was anounced. I didn't enjoy punctures etc.

onetwoflea · 12/01/2012 01:53

only ever had a p&t - for 6 years (3 kids). it does everything i need - bus, car, town, beach, forest track. one kid, two kids, 3! (with a buggy board!!!! and a lot of strength!!!)

it's no longer in pristine condition though...

scotlass · 13/01/2012 00:09

Have and used my bugaboo cameleon for over 2yrs now. Stopped using it when DS was just passed 2 - he tends to want to walk everywhere now or I'd still be using it. Sadly time to sell

Have a maclaren quest for very occassional use that was grandparent friendly option (I didn't trust them with my lovely bugaboo Grin. Probably will sell after 3yrs
