Pushchairs
city jogger elite or summit for very tall/heavy toddler

My DS is 2 + 7months and almost 1m tall and 3stone. His feet are nearly touching the floor of his obaby buggy and need a replacement soon. I like the fact it is suitable for up to 30kg weight!! Also I am due with number 2 in June so looking for one that will take me right through their early years also. I guess I am banking on DS to be mainly walking/buggy boarding by then or the newbie being in a baby sling for a while - as well as he is too big for a Phil and Teds and there dont seem to be any other options. Also worried about tipping if one side is wieghted more than the other.
Just flummoxed by the choice and there are no stockists of these near me so I cant even take DS to sit in one to try out.
Any advice on which is best? I will need to take the bus sometimes but hell, I've seen monsters on the bus so not too concerned!
I did consider the City Mini but the small wheels put me off as he had a Britax Beep with small wheels that veered all over the place and impossible to steer due to his size.

Does this help at all?
I have the Elite and it's good. I know MonkeysPunk on here has a Summit. I personally have no need for the bigger wheels of the Summit so wouldn't even consider it. I believe the sizes or weight otherwise are barely any different. The Summit has a handbrake. The Elite has a good parent console and the raised calf rest. I stacked the main body of my Elite with my City Mini ie one on top of the other and you struggle in the photos to tell which is which. It is the wheels really that make the difference. If you buy from a good shop eg Boots, then you can try the pushchair out carefully at home and see what ou think. But the Elite seat is huge (my 1m tall 3 year old looks dwarfed in the seat) and I believe the Summit would be similar.
Just to add if you did want a double then a good side by side like the Elite double or Easywalker Duo wouldn't tip or feel unbalanced. I have a new Peach Blossom and the front seat of that takes up to 25kgs. My DD is almost 18kgs and it's fine with her in the new lower seat (up to 20.5kgs). Have a look also at the Mountain Buggy +One which is fab for my two (can be a single or double) or the Micralite Twofold (single with toddler step and second seat if you wish).

Just to add, the BJCM handles superbly with my 3 year old in. I wouldn't be put off by past experiences :)

thanks i will look at the mountain buggy as well - funds are limited though so the elite was top of my price range especially with having to get a car seat or carrycot to go with it. (didnt have a car when DS was born so don't have one for tiny baby range).
I looked at the peach blossom but not sure I like how the toddler would have legs dangling - think it would either frustrate DS or just make him slump down? looks a lot like the britax dual which I was considering until that put me off.

The main Peach seat is fine even with leg dangling. It's a different story on the B-Dual as toddlers just don't sit right in the seat and I m sure a footrest would help on that.

thanks for advice - I bit the bullet and ordered a city elite which arrived today.
I think it seems perfect. DS fits in it perfectly - i measured him and hes 102cm so the size is right. He finally doesn't look like a giant!! DH loves it too as he is 6ft 4 and finally has something to push that he doesnt have to stoop to push.
Looking forward to trying it out asap!!
got a great price on nursery superstore - £90 less than mothercare!
