The B-Dual s a very good all round tandem pushchair. It is best used with the baby in a soft cot in the bottom to start with. It's good to push, neat folded, large basket, huge hoods. The one negative is that older children seem to 'hang' from the seats. I can't logically see why, but this is alleviated by putting the footrest horizontal or above and it's a minor issue when compared to the other tandems on the market. It's highly recommended here. The new version is due at the end of January. If you read down ths forum there are lots of mentions of the B-Dual even just on this first page.

Does a maxi-cosi infant seat fit the B-Dual?

Yes it does if you use BabyStyle oyster maxi cosi adapters. But it's not been safety tested so isn't recommended by BabyStyle or maxi cosi. Those apaters fit on the top seat. I don't think it works on the bottom as you need the infant carrier frame and I don't know if the adapters would fit on the frame and/or whether there's enough space for the car seat then.

Yes, you have to buy Babystyle Oyster Maxi-Cosi adapters though.

I really like our B-Dual and it's really cheap at the moment. I'd see if you can get someone to price match one of these deals. Don't buy from them though-their reputation is terrible.

I went into the shop yesterday and they had two B-Duals on the showroom floor but the shop was most odd (in the middle of a laptop shop!), and the pushchairs advertised on their website werent on the shop floor (so I wasn't convinced they had any because they weren't forthcoming when an asked about them), no one offered me any help until I asked, and all round I wasn't very impressed. So I agree with getting someone to price match.

I already have a maxi-cosi from DD1, So i just need the actual pushchair, and the adapters? cosy toes, raincover, .......

The rain over is included. You will need the soft cot if you plan to put the baby into the lower seat. They would be fine without it in the upper seat but your toddler would probably be compromised.

I've got a M&P sola, and a silvercross travel system (Mum brought me this one) so i still have those the silvercross is at MIL for when she would need it, could sell it but wouldnt get much for it, would rather get the occasional use...

I also have my boba carrier, so baby could always go in there if i push toddler... I think I will probably use the maxicosi carseat for newborn, never really too long in the carseat on pram so wouldnt be long, then the baby could go in the usual seat couldnt they?

im so confused lol

Well the problem is the bottom seat is quite short. So it's fine when they're really tiny and not longer than the seat, and it's fine when they're older and don't need the full body support so their legs can hang off the end. But in that inbetween age, you would need a soft carrycot at the bottom.

The other options are to have the newborn at the top forward facing with no need for extra support as the seat is quite long. Or have them in the top parent facing, but if you do that you (annoyingly) can't use the adapters which push the top seat away from the handle, which then means the seat is right up close to your toddler underneath. Tilting the top seat's footrest up helps, but it's still not great. The pictures on Best Buggy help to show this option.

You can have the apapters to push the seat away and then put the car seat on top. That would give the toddler more space, but obviously it's not really a great solution for longer outings. I personally think if I was in this situation I'd just get the soft carrycot for the bottom. You can always sell it to make some money back later. Then you also have the added bonus that if the baby is flat you won't need the headroom and can have your toddler at the top facing you.

Thanks Saoirse, I didn't have time for the full explanation earlier :)

Fortunately for you I have plenty of time on my hands! Xmas Wink
