anyone used the babyjogger city mini from newborn?

...up until a couple of weeks ago I'd been looking at travel systems like the uppababy vista, but a friend of mine has just told me that for her second child, she sold the bugaboo after 6 weeks and went straight for the city mini which has revolutionised her getting about experience. The fact that is can be folded with one hand, stored in a tiny carboot, and carried so easily (plus the price) obviously makes this a tempting choice. I know that in theory this stroller can be used for a newborn, but was wondering how much I would miss having a proper carrycot attachment for those first few months. Can anyone advise?

Thank you!

I use mine for my ten week DD with a Phil and Ted's cocoon (soft carry cot). Fits perfectly, there are even velcro loops on the cocoon which coincide with d rings to tie them to on the bjcm.

A 2011 BJ city mini or 2012 can have a proper carryforward on top. I can't tell you how much i love mine... The fold is fabulous, you can have baby in your arms and get it up/down, in/out boot fine, great for toddlers too. I'm so pleased with it. Had it from 9 months, would def be using from newborn this time, maybe buying carrycot if i wasn't having twins so going for a monster triple buggy.

Err, carrycot. Blooming autocorrect. A proper pram top one by baby jogger. Plus sunhood is wonderful, can make it dark and cosy for day time sleeping

In the new year there will be a choice of three carrycots for the City Mini - one is hard bodied so looks like a pram if you remove the fabric. I think your friend is a wise lady. My recommendation is to get the four wheeler as it's more stable. The City Mini is very hard to beat.

Wow - glowing recommendations - thanks ladies...I didn't realise about the carrycot option, and phil/teds cocoon also a great idea. You have put my mind at rest thanks so much!

Just check it actually fits in your boot if it's small. It doesn't fit in my Mum's Peugeot 207 unless you remove the parcel shelf or lie it at an angle so it takes up the whole boot!

Also look at the Britax B-Agile. It's similar in a lot f ways but the handle s a tad shorter so my suit you if you are short. I am 5ft 6ins and it's too short for me.

I used the BJCM from newborn with the carseat adaptor and M&P Primo Viaggio car seat, worked very well! Still onehanded fold and as small and easy with adaptors attatched. We have travelled alot with this pram and have the double as well so HIGHLY recommended.

Hi, I have used both my Baby Joggers (City Classic and City Mini) for all three of my children since they were newborn. My three week old was out in the City Mini today, let down as far as it goes so nearly flat, snug in his Wallaboo cosy toes (the BEST thing, I lift him out of his car seat in it and straight into the buggy, when we get home if he is still asleep he goes into his cot in it... his toes never see the light of day!)

BJCM is excellent! Sooo easy to fold and push and goes places iff roaf that you wouldnt expect for such small wheels and has been great for dog walks off the very beaten track! The shade is awesome as makes it so dark for sleeping on the go and lies so flat. So easy to adjust straps too.
