how old do you reckon the child who rides on the back needs to be?

how comfortable is the front seat for a baby? can it recline for a six month old to sleep comfortably with the other child on the back?

do you like this buggy? or is there a better fairly cheap double buggy for baby and toddler...

i have owned one for years and love it, i think the newer ones recline more now, so yes a 6 month should be fine, my dc's have been in the back from about 2 years and sit or stand very happy in the back, my ds still goes in the back at 5 years old and i have had 3 dc's on it at times, they are great because the dc at the back has the option to hop on and off and won't out grow the seat like they will in other doubles

I used a Joovy Ultralight this summer and thought it was good but it's a different feel to a pushchair. It's more trolley like. My DD was just over 2.5 and about right to sit down. When she stood up she was a bit of a pain trying to jump or lean back onto me. But it was fun and she absolutely loved it. The front seat is very comfy for a 6 month pkus. It's got a very deep recline which is great for the baby, with a lift up footrest but it means the back child needs to perch on the rear seat or stand up as the seat needs to slide back towards you ie not much foot space. But it was fine. The basket is great!

My issues are that although it pushes well, it's not got the smooth, comfortable feeling that pushing a good pushchair has. Like I said it's trolley like. Probably not much suspension?
I forgot my DD was parent facing and in a floating type harness so when we went up a step into a shop she practically catapulted out towards me!
My biggest gripe really is the hood. Because it covers both children, it's fine for sun protection but it's got a hole right through for winter. It would be a case of wrapping both children up warm rather than trying to add a Buggysnuggle.
It's also long folded.

Does this help? Bear in mind the photo of the front seat fully reclined taken from the rear, has the toddler seat back as far as it goes. But the seat can be reclined more upright which gives you more space for the toddler.
