Find me a stroller..

After researching on google, the current threads and archived threads I'm none the wiser so throwing it out to you pram experts. Please!

DD is 3 next week and a lazy bugger so still uses buggy on daytrips etc.
DC2 arrives in Feb and will be using DD's old Bugaboo Cam.
I'll be using a buggyboard from then to get DD out of the buggy!

We need a stroller as we keep it in DH's car as the Bug Cam is quite heavy to be swapping back and forth. DD can use it til Dc2 arrives then it will be for the baby so needs to be suitable from birth.

We have an O Baby atlas sport (i think). It's shite and I need to replace it now as its too much pushing lazybones whilst pregnant. It's terrible to steer but I may have been spoilt by the Bugaboo-Turn-On-A-Pin.

Stroller threads always suggest Baby Jogger City Mini but reviews say the handle is high and non-adjustable and DH and I are both short. What to buy?

A B-Agile is the obvious choice for people of smaller statutes (I am 5ft 6ins and it's too short whereas the City Mini is right). Other than that look at the Baby Jogger Elite. It's still pretty neat when folded but the wheels make a difference in folded size. But they are east to simply pop off and on. Maybe consider a Zapp Xtra / older Zapp and add the Xtra seat on later for the baby?

britax b-agile, they have a low handle, i am 5 foot and the handle height would be the right height for me.

Excuse all those typos - trying to feed a baby with an iPad which seems to know what you want to say doesn't always work out right!
Statures (thank you iPad, not statues again) and easy.

I've seen the zapp topple over backwards a few times so it puts me off that. I'll have a look at the b-agile. never even heard of it. I should add that i bought a silvercross old pram on ebay too in some romantic notion of using that for walking but currently it's like sharing the lounge with the titanic. It may well go back on ebay to fund the stroller.

Okay a quick scan, love the agile-b but perhaps more than I want to spend as Bugaboo will be dealing with most use. Baby Jogger City Elite again a bit much for sling in DH's boot all week. The jogger city mini fits the bill a treat, will it be a problem for me 5ft 2", DH is 5ft 6". He'd love an orange one though I just know it.

The zapp xtra despite my misgivings looks a good compromise for us, I assume to collapse it, you take the seat out like my cameleoon? But I also gather I can use the maxicosi cabriofix on it like my bug cam? Have i got that right? That really would be handy for times when DH takes baby in his car.

Yes you can use the car seat on the Zapp Xtra but personally I don't recommend it. There's a set of seat adaptors you heed to remove to use the car seat and they are very easy to lose, roll away or generally misplace. I made a drawstring bag for mine after OH kept leaving them in odd places / moving them, but even that didn't stop them eventually getting lost, taking 6 weeks to replace and costing us £30! The City Mini can take a maxi cosi car seat too but be careful as it's a bit tippy on the 3 wheel version.

I'm 5ft 5inches and find the bjcm handle height great. Because the handle is curved if you like handles you can hold it at the top, or down the sides if you like a lower feel. I bought one 2 weeks ago for ds2 who is nearly 3 and walks alot, but we still need a buggy quite a bit for long journeys and it is great. he loves the hood coming right over (anti social devil!) and I find it really easy to push (whereas the XT that I sometimes use had become hell to push).

I bought my from boots as it was reduced to £175. I went trhough quidco which gives you 10% back and it was an extra points weekend so I ended up with £32 of points so effectively I could knock £50 of the price so it was a bargain.

Kiddicare do their own version of the Baby Jogger City Mini called the Sidewalk. But the price is much higher, so try it out, find out precisely what the differences are (we dont believe there are any but are looking into it) and come back here and I am sure someone will find you a great deal!!

Right im back from kiddicare and he went for the sidewalk. I tried to get dh to shop around for the mini at a better price but he got swept up, bought the buggy adaptors and raincover there and then.

Have to say theres no difference between that and the bjcm. It is brilliant turns beautifully with dd in it. Im really pleased with it. Handle height was fine for me, only draw back is not much room for dd on a buggy board because of the extreme recline.

That's great that you have decided :)
What colour did you go for?

Red and black, he's obsessed with orange so i really thought he'd want the mini in orange and grey. Kiddicare have computers round the store so you can shop around and claim price match. He went off to look, came back and announced he doesnt like the silver wheels on the mini, sidewalk's are black, then that he wanted black and red to match our cabriofix. Quite shocked as he shopped for a buggy by colour like a woman shops for a car.

Lol! I got my BJCM4 this week and was surprised to see that it has a black frame. The red and black would have been my choice :)
