bumbleride flyer

The day I've been afraid of is finally here- I can't lengthen the straps of our 'pram' harness any more (yikes!!)

I think I've decided to get a flyer but wanted to solicit opinions on it as I can't try one out and it's going to cost me what amounts to a significant portion of my savings.
So-
does anyone have it?
are they brakes a pain- having to do one at a time?
is it ok for tall/short parent? (I'm 5'6", dad's 6'4")
how is it for kerbs? stairs? shopping?
My DD is definitely going to be tall- you think it'll last?
can you put a buggy board on it?

is it heavy?
easy to fold?
massive when folded?

is there a particular company you got it from? would you recommend them?
how long did it take to arrive?
would you recommend getting the footmuff thing?

anything else you think I should know?

any input gratefully received- this is a scarily big purchase for me and I really don't want to get it wrong
thanks in advance

Suzie38 has one and really likes it. I am sure she will be around later.

Well i love mine and it'd be the one i'd keep if i could only have one pushchair...I'll try and answer most questions.
Brakes...I don't tend to use brakes a lot so i don't find them an issue.
I'm 5'2" so the handle on the lowest setting suits me fine, DH is 5'8" and he's fine using it...No idea for 6'4" person...It does go high but then you might have the issue of kicking the back axles but then years ago there was none of the adjustable handle height malarky and handles were generally set low and people had to manage.
No issue with kerbs or shopping but haven't taken it up or down steps.
No idea about buggy boards.
I do have a tiny DD but it doesn't come across as a small seat unit.
Weight wise it's on par with most these days.
Easy to fold and not too massive...If you need small folded then you really need a Maclaren type pushchair.
Bumbleride footmuff is rubbish so i wouldn't buy it...I'm currently hooking Bugaboo customs over the back of the seat.
I recommend a snack pack as i find it really handy.
I bought mine from the one recommended by Bumbleride for oversea sales Balkovitsch though might have spelt that wrong...Mine took about a month but a couple of weeks were wasted as my prefered color wasn't in stock and no one informed me until i pressed for shipping infomation...Once i changed my color choice things moved as quickly as they could...Don't forget you can get custom charges...I didn't on my Flyer but did my Indie and prepaid on my Flite though i got my money back on my Fllite...Amazon.com are quite good for selling Bumblerides though the seller needs to be actually Amazon itself...plus they state actual stock levels and you pay customs upfront and get it back if you don't get charged...Also i found Amazon very quick with my Flite as you can choose you prefered shipping method ie fast or regular.
If i think of anything else i'll post or ask away.

PS... When we had the Meriva i fitted it on top of the parcel shelf and the only other buggy i can do that with is my Citisport, Nuna and of course umbrella folds...Now i have a tiny Hyundai i10 it goes on the seat next to DD car seat...I've not tried it in the boot because i have too much stored in there.

I think the Flyer comes automatically with a raincover which i found is really well made and comes with a little zip bag to put it in...If not definetely buy one...Other models i had to buy one seperately.

thank you for all the info! can't think of any pertinent questions to ask...
I don't drive so if I do get a car one day I can choose one the buggy fits in.

I know it's not supposed to be for off road but is it ok of cobbles and rubbish pavements? ALthough if she doesn't wake up when I'm bumping her up the 40odd steps at the station cobbles probably wont bother her...

small fold would be handy but until they start manufacturing a rear facing one it's no good for us.
