DD will be 2.10 when this baby arrrives and I thought a board would be fine. However, I have been watching out for them now and can't help think that I will be tripping over it?
It is a mile to walk into town each way and we don't have a car so we do quite a lot of walking. Also for fun as there are lots of walks round here and at gps. I just assumed that DD would be walking that far. However, Dc2 will be here in 5 months and dd still can only do about 2/3rds of the trip to shops on a good day.
I had hoped to toughen her up by weaning off the pushchair however, I have spd and back pain starting already so can't carry her if she gets tired and need the basket for any shopping.
Also reading threads where children are in the pushchair until nearly four I am wondering if I have underestimated how long dd would need a pushchair Confused
Any words of wisdom appreciated!

Prams if I really liked something I could sell all of my Pushchairs. But I would really want rearfacing, if I was to do that and I don't like red... Stupid I know.

Alma great that you managed, and nice to know you understand deepest Devon Wink I don't think I will get on with a board as I think I would trip over it, already kick my puschairs without something else in the way. Blush

I don't think the Select is that heavy, I can get it up kerbs with DD in the front seat ? you just put your foot on the bar at the bottom. I chose it for the fact you can have the baby rearfacing and the fact that it's a proper carrycot when they're small. You do have to buy that separately I think ? I can't really remember because I got an ex-display model with the carrycot, two seats and raincovers all included.

An alternative is these

I had a double for mine, but found these were more maneuverable. I had a maclaren techno (lie flat) that was good for baby and a mac volo connected together. It also meant that if there was more than one of you you could separate the two.

What about one of these? might they work? buggypod

I wouldn't go for the sling or buggy board option. I had a sling but more than 20 mins and I had back ache Sad (spd during pregnancy too). The buggyboard I kicked every time I took a step. It was a nightmare!

Lunar Thanks but I wouldn't be able to attach any of my pushchairs together and the buggy pod I am not sure, what if it rains?

I like the select looks wise and I could just get the carrycot initially and see if I need it as a double once LO is 6months? Then it could just be a single after that?
Have you used yours as a single Susia? And what is it like on rough ground?
I think the rf is more important than weight to me.

Again I think the phil and teds is great Mine is a sport version and managed to find it for £170 in the friday ad and was in great condition, now I know that even though I have scuffed the handle I could still get £150 for it as I have the double seat and caccoon which is also really handy. I Also used the adapter which meant I could put the car seat on it (not sure if this is something you would need) but it was brilliant for when DD was tiny and my DS fit in the seat underneath. Tell Dh that unless he will be around to look after the kids and get them to where they need to go he has no choice but to get an appropriate buggy for you.

4yrs old and still in a buggy! Cerikey! Just wouldn't stand for that... lazy little tykes need to be walking about, good for them, good for you, good for exploring, good for learning about the world... etc.

So, I have two boys and thing 1 was 2.3 when thing 2 was born. I went for a cunning buggy board with seat! Perfecto. I had a Bugaboo, and the board was kind of triangular, so you did need to get used to walking in such a way that you didn't trip, but it was no big deal, and was an absolute godsend. Thing 1 did occasionally fall asleep on the seat and so had to be propped up, or swapped out, and the sling used for thing 2. All in all v glad did NOT get the double buggy, as it meant DS1 moved on to walking quicker, thus saving my back! DS2 was out of the buggy by 2.6 or thereabouts.

Dh has just said we should get a Bugaboo Donkey!! I am going to have to sell all of the pushchairs and I think he is mental, but I see his logic and he liked the look of it when it was first released. You could knock me down with a feather!

Lucky you! I think my DH would have got one of those if it had been released in time but it wasn't!

In answer to your question, I have used the City Select as a single ? you just need to be aware that it's slightly longer than a normal single so that you don't keep bashing people's ankles but it's fine.

Does OK over rough terrain ? I managed to shove it over the snow/ice a few days after DS was born with both of the children in it as I was going stir crazy and had to get out of the house.

But all of this is probably irrelevant now! Have fun shopping.

Still good to know, I am squeamish about spending that much money and selling all of my pushchairs! However, they have 3yrs warranty if bought before April 2012, which is great!
