Icandy Cherry - 18months old and needs £80 worth of repairs
rosebud76 · 24/09/2011 12:54
Hi there - we recently took our Icandy Cherry back to the shop we bought it from as the back wheels appeared very wobbly and I wasn't comfortable being out with it in case we had a "breakdown". I have not made any extraordinary use of it - walks in the park, around town etc. I have not hauled it up the side of a mountain or anything! The shop got back to us and said that Icandy said it needed £80 worth of repairs (3 new wheels and a new axel) but that we would need to pay as this was fair wear and tear. I won't see how a pram can be of satisfactory quality or fit for purpose if normal usage of it would result in the need for such expensive repairs before the 2 year warranty has even expired. Has anyone else had any experience of "fair wear and tear" arguments with shops or manufacturers? Any comments would be gratefully received.

contact trading standards they are taking the pea, do it today, don't delay, a pushchair should last for at least 3 years as this is what they are made to do, carry a child from birth to 3 years old, its unfit for purpose

The pram is only 18m old. That is NOT fair wear and tear at all. That is a product not durable and not fit for purpose.
Please talk to trading standards about your consumer rights. Then return to the shop armed with knowledge.
I expect you will get your chassis replaced or repaired foc. Anything less and I'd take it to court!
