Pushchairs
Pushchair for newborn and 2 year old.....aaaaarghh!!

Hi all,
I am 2 weeks away from having my 2nd baby, and am still having dilemmas about which pushchair to get. My DS1 is coming up to 2, and as I won't be using a car then I think I need to get a buggy as opposed to a buggy board etc.....
So, I have about £250 to spend, and know that my best bet is ebay and am happy to buy 2nd hand. I have been looking at P&T tandems but not sure which model to get.... Not sure I want a side by side as too big.
Any suggestions? I need to get a wriggle on and make a decision now!!

I would look at the Britax B-Dual but try and get a 2011 version. Great seating options eg car seats, carrycot, soft cot, and a choice of which child goes where with good pushability and storage. The Phil&Teds Sport and Explorer are the two P&Ts I would look at, but a reclining doubles kit seat for the Explorer is preferable.

vote here for a p&t, sports are good, explorers have had recalls on them so i would be careful, and avoid the vibes, not good.

Thankyou ladies..........think a 2nd hand p&t sport is the only one within my budget, there seem to be lots on ebay :)
The Britax is just too expensive :(

Theres some great offers on Britax at present. I sold a practically brand new one on EBay a couple of weeks ago for just £20 more than your budget, oont dismiss it too easily ;)

Not sure if this helps but i bought thr britax b dul and returned it asap it felt wrong pushing it the hood on the main seat is hhhuuuggge!
I then got silvercross pop duo but realised pretty sharpish weight diff is an issue, my dd is 2.7 and dd2 is 6 weeks.
Have now got the mothercare hoxton and love it x

Nic, what felt wrong about your B-Dual? Mine is amazingly easy to push and steers really easily. I can happily push it with two one year olds and loads of bags with one hand. Did you not like the massive hood? I think it's great for keeping the sun out of the top child's eyes and you can use it instead of the raincover for light rain.
OP, I would absolutely recommend it and they're often on eBay for less than £250, even in the 2011 version.

Did you have the old B-Dual which did have the huge hood? The new B-Dual has a lower hood with extension pieces should you wish to add them. The B-Dual is here side by side with the Phil&Teds Verve and there's hardly any height difference. The mesh panel in the centre of the B-Dual hood zips away if you want a smaller hood. There's one here on Buy it now for £250 or less for example and there are plenty on EBay at any one time on auction. I had my dd2 6 months ago & decided on the baby jogger city select pushchair. It's great. My ds1 was 2.2 when she was born & I still use it all the time. U can buy a pram for newborn which converts to a seat once babe reaches 6 months. Car seat fits to it & I bought buggy board as well for short journeys out. Was more than ur budget tho 
but I don't know if u can get them second hand yet as quite new. Would really recommend tho

Out n about nipper 360 double. If you're buying 2nd hand make sure it is the one with the swivel front wheel, not the fixed wheel.
I know, it's side by side. It also pushes way more easily than any other double I've tried, it isn't that wide (I've only come across one residential doorway it wouldn't fit in....and the doorway in question doesn't fit certain single buggies either). It is light but feels sturdy - for both town and rough tracks, and will cope fine in snow too.
