Mamas & Papas Sola Pushchair-opinions pls?

Well we finally took the plunge this weekend and went out test-driving pushchairs.

We've settled on our favourite being the Mamas & Papas Sola pushchair:

Does anyone have one of these already and have any opinions/comments?

I've read the mumsnet review and googled for some, but some real-life feedback would be appreciated

I found that the hood didn't give much protection from the sunshine.

We have one for DS. So far it's been fine, has it's pros and cons but I don't think it's any better or worse than others on the market. Agree re the sunshade - we bought a shade-a-babe as DS is really fair and I worried about him burning so that helped. Its easy to push and DS seems comfy in it though. We had the carrycot as well as DS was a winter baby and that was good although possibly not worth the money (ours was a gift). I've taken it on and off lots of public transport and it's been fine to manouevre.

We bought ours used on eBay and it's been a great primary pushchair for using in the neighbourhood. I agree re the sun, especially if baby is sleeping and it's reclined fully. We bought a Koodi sun and sleep shade to address that. Other points:

Pros:
-Baby is comfy.
-The parent facing feature is so nice, probably more for parent than baby.
-You can get loads of shopping in the basket.
-You can use with a maxi-cosi car seat if you get the adapters.
-It looks pretty

Cons:
-It's quite big and heavy. I wouldn't get it as your primary pushchair if you use public transport every day. For those occasions where you have to carry it up/down stairs, it can be quite a burden. Also it doesn't fit down the aisle of every bus. I sometimes have to ask the driver if I can go in through the back door, which can be a pain.
-It takes up a lot of room in the car boot and also in our flat.

-The accessories are rather expensive (£25 for the car seat adapters. £65 for footmuff)

Agree re the expensive accessories and tbh I would say don't bother with the M&P footmuff, just get a universal one - it's an odd length and doesn't really fit that well.

Sorry, I didn't point out what I saw as the pros.
Very easy to switch the seat around.
Very easy to fold and unfold the chassis.
Liked the gate-opening bumper bar and adjustable calf support.

It was ok on public footpaths across fields providing the ground was hard rather than muddy. (This was for a toddler, not a baby).

Thanks all for replying, am I right in thinking that you can fold the buggy when the seat is attached forward facing only?

Yep, that's right, but it's very easy to flip the seat around to fold it if necessary. Actually, the fold/unfold is great, very easy and quick.

That's what I thought WorrisomeHeart, I remember the switching position mechanism being very easy, so although i'll start with the rear-facing position for newborn- when folding i'll switch it to front-facing.
