oooooo i just had to tell someone my orbit has arrived, have not pushed it out yet but first impressions, really lovely, lovely colour, brown with either a pink liner or beige liner, so one in the wash one on Grin huge seat my dd4 looks lost, huge hood and pull out visor, was very easy to unfold and put seat on and unfold seat, very easy to fold seat back down and then fold took less than a minute, you can have a one or two piece fold which will be great if i was forced to fold for the bus, shopping basket great and i could leave my bits in the bag if i had to fold as it would not fall out, not light but ok to carry have had heavier, will have to go for a pointless walk later to try out pushabilty but if this is great, i could be cured of my pram problem, my xari for walks, orbit for walks/ days out, public transport and the vista [i would like] for big shop. Grin and that would be it, other than of course my wagons Grin and all parent facing which dd seems to prefer [she talks when pf but is silent when ff]

Somebody on here, but i can't remember who, mentioned about the car seats because UK one's have to have a one part release system whereas USA one's nearly always have the extra chest buckle...I've an Evenflo one in the car that DH uses with a chest buckle...I bought it off eBay because it'd only been used on a holiday and is a rear facer but more space because it's a stage 1 car seat once turned around...Plus it fastens with an easy routing system so doesn't need a long seat belt as Matiz's have very short belts...The Orbit one rear faces for 7lbs longer than my Opal plus forward faces for an extra 10lbs...But the postage on that site is $248 though i could add extra to it, to make it more economical.

suzie38 whats your orbit like, are the panniers any good, hope it arrived ok

Well i've put a couple of reviews in the conga thread...It's not as easy to push as my Donkey which has disappointed me but i might WD40 the wheels to help them run extra smoothly...The panniers are great and we can still get it through the gate with them on...But it's going to be hard work pushing it back from Tesco fully ladened up as it's uphill and even the Donkey is hard work up hill...They clip on really easily using the handle...Plus unlike the Donkey, there are inbuilt covers for covering the baskets if it's raining etc etc...The watermelon pack is very pink!!!

pramsgalore · 18/08/2011 11:24

hopefully wd40 will work or silicon spray may be better, thats what bugaboo recommend to use, i will get the panniers when i get back from camping as they sound great, does your seat fold down, i found mine can be a bit tippy if lo leans forward to far and i have shopping hanging off handlebars, i agree they look better pf than ff, my footrest is fabric so i can push it down between the bars, but its not adjustable and the recline is done by a strap and clip so does not lock off at all, the seats are big, my ds climbed in and he fitted with hood up (he is a small 5 year old). i managed to fit it in the back of a seven seater behind the back seats which i did not think i would manage as the boot space is very small, i had to take seat off but that was easy to do. i now have my singles sorted mima and orbit my favs, looked at the vista in kiddicare and the seat was not that big compared to the orbit so won't be buying one, would like a verve as ds will be able to sit in the back as it takes 20kilos, i had to keep swapping them over when away as he refused to walk or kept running off,

My seat locks in both upright and semi upright...But in full recline it doesn't which if i had a newborn, i think would annoy me...Still wishing i'd checked the Xari out as from review via here, i think it would push the same as a Donkey, if not even better...But someone felt it was too small for their 2.10 year old who was on the 9th line for height, which is the same line as my DD so that put me off...Maybe i should check a Xari out and if i liked it, i could sell the Donkey???

Tiggywunkle · 18/08/2011 12:23

Suzie, your DD is small so she would have plenty of room in the Xari. My DD still could fit under the canopy and she's very tall for her age. The Kobi pushes like a dream so I bet the Xari is even better. Prams...I got the Verve because of the 20kg limit but my DDs legs at two are very cramped. There isn't much room from the end of the seat to the end of the basket. I have the measurements somewhere. The seat seems further under than other P&Ts which is one reason I bought it because I knock my knees on some other P&Ts as I walk, but never considered the leg length.

pramsgalore · 18/08/2011 13:58

the xari pushes lovely it just glides along, the seat is a good size, not as big as the orbit but then that is huge, i think it pushes as easy as a cam it is lovely,i don't think you would regret buying a xari, i love mine and i won't be parting with my xari until she is at school Grin,
tiggy i own a sport and ds sits in the front and back and is fine he never complains it is uncomfy but he has past the weight limit on the back and it has kinda past its best still works fine but well used and i have gone right off 3 wheelers hate them, so have ordered the verve as i need a double sometimes as he has started to play up again, prob the lack of routine with going away but know there will be days on the school run where it will be a god send and i can pop home and swap to a single after the school run, it will also be handy for shopping as the back seat will be empty and i have panniers, not a great fit but they do fit. phil and teds is a bit of a love hate thing, but they are great when you have older ones, i don't have alot of choice on inline doubles because of the weight and the size of seat needed.
i am cured i am really happy with 3, my xari, orbit and the verve [arriving tomorrow, but played with one in kiddicare], i walked round kiddicare and looked at all the single prams/pushchairs and did not want any of them [apart from the verve but that is a double], none of them were as nice as the mima xari, none had bigger seats than the orbit, very nice colours and patterns on the new ones but that was it. Grin have a few to sell still, but when they have gone i will only own 3.

The Xari folds both in one piece and in 2??? Does it free stand when folded??? I think i saw a picture but no idea where...There is a company in the Netherlands selling for about £775 and it's the Cosmo color but isn't called that over there...pramsgalore yours is the white with red isn't it???

pramsgalore · 18/08/2011 15:42

i do not fold mine stands under the stairs, but i saw the youtube clip for johnlewis and yes it does freestand if you have the handle in the right position (he did not but i have seen it freestand on the mima youtube one) yes mine is white and red.

OP posts:
pramsgalore · 18/08/2011 15:43

sorry yes you can fold it with seat facing out

OP posts:
suzie38 · 18/08/2011 16:30

The Cosmo Xari would cost £779 with no postage charges!!! That's a lot cheaper than John Lewis but obviously if something went wrong it's not so easy to return...Wonder if JL are selling the Cosmo Xari yet, as their date was sometime in August.

pramsgalore · 18/08/2011 16:38

phone CR they will sell you one direct and then if anything goes wrong you are covered

suzie38 · 18/08/2011 16:45

Tiggywunkle · 18/08/2011 17:00
