Warning KIDDICARE returns policy

Hi
Just wondered if anyone else is having problems with Kiddicare, Peterborough. I bought a travel folding buggy from them for our holiday which simply does not fold. You can only contact them by phone as otherwise you have to pay for return (even for faulty item), this costs you 10p per minute. They constantly put you on hold and are extremely rude. Wait for this... I was told that unless I could fold up the buggy their courier would not pick it up so I could not return it. If they found it wasn't faulty I would be liable for full charges! Agent tried to put me through to service department to show me how to "snap the buggy" so that it could be picked up. Told them that, no, this was a faulty item, even if they could show me how to fold it after pushing, pulling and puffing this was not acceptable for a travel buggy where you wanted speed.
Have bought quite a lot of stuff from them but won't be doing anymore. Angry

Hi Suzie
Well to be honest it was only a cheap buggy simply for holidays (need a small one to fit in with all five children on trip to France) - redkite push me lite - but still surely I have a right to expect that it works without having to have the strenght of an ox or dexterity of a chimp with 30 fingers!!

I bought my pram online from kiddiecare at 6mth pregnant, obviously didnt use it for 3mth then 18mth later the seat unit ripped, they replaced it no problem and i claimed back a postage refund..
I'd only heard good things.
Hope you get it sorted.

if you search kiddicare on mumsnet there's quite a bit of stuff like my experience.
The latest e-mail I have from them still says it has to be folded down before they will pick it up.
It is quite laughable really!

Wow I always found Kiddicare fabulous. They helped me over the phone once with a Micralite problem, were very polite and sorted it out straight away. Perhaps they have farmed out their customer service dept.

Thanks everyone! Sorry for the delay in replying...have been away!
Finally, common sense broke through (after I kicked off big style) and they refunded original buggy and sent me a new (more expensive one), so they have redeemed themselves. Have to say I probably won't order from them again as it seemed I had to make a huge fuss before they sorted it. Also am still disappointed that the returns line is a premium rate payable line. Anyway, all's well that ends well!

I am having problems with Kiddicare, I placed an order last Sunday and did not receive it, when I rang they informed me that it had been cancelled. I contacted Paypal and discovered that they had been paid on Monday but they had still cancelled the order and "could not" renstate it.
This has so far cost a lot of heartache and three expensive phone calls to find out that I ill not receive my goods. I am still waiting the refund that they have promised!
They do not deserve business!
Wanne

Any company that puts a price on basic contact is to be avoided. Always good to check how to contact a company and if it looks tricky, don't buy from them.

Thanks for highlighting this - I shan't be buying from them again (I used to before they updated their website, probably around 6 years ago)
