Pram for a tiny boot

I'm expecting DC2 and really want a new pram. Something suitable from birth, sturdy enough to use in winter as due in January, parent facing and will fit in the boot of a corsa. I want something small enough that I can take the whole pram as don't really want to use it with the car seat too much. With DD I didn't drive and had a silver cross freeway. Whilst lovely it's huge, we also have a maclaren pushchair which I will be happy to use again but only when baby is a few months old.

Oh other thing is since I already have a pram DH is being a bit of a moan about getting another so need something not too expensive or one common enough that I can pick one up on eBay. So any suggestions?

Bee+? Bit expensive though and probably not suitable for winter.

Erm, baby jogger city mini? You can get carrycots for them and they fold flat.

My cousin has a corsa and she has an oyster travel system including carrycot. I think she is happy with it

what about a micralite with carrycot, but don't know if carrycot would squash down in your boot, i have a micralite fastfold the old version of the micralite superlite and with the back wheels off they are compact but to have them parent facing you would need the carrycot, they are always on ebay and don't go for that much (they are not expensive new)

The Quinny Zapp Xtra is tiny folded although the seat doesn't fold. It's best to buy a second hand chassis (they're the same chassis as the normal Zapp) and a new seat unit. Or just get the whole thing second hand. The chassis is really stiff when new so will be easier to put up and down when someone's worn it in for you. However, if you're tall it's likely to be too short.

I used to drive a smart car which has the smallest boot known to man Grin. A Petite Star Zia fit inside with loads of room to spare.

Loola/loola up fold small enough if you take the seat off, sturdy pram that you can pick up cheap, i have the loola up wit dd1 and used it for approx 8/9 month and loved it.

Also 2nd the oyster, i have this waiting for dd2 to arrive and although space isnt an issue for me it does fold up quite small

I'm liking the Quinny Zapp Xtra. I could afford that brand new too. Oyster looks nice but way out of our price range although I may keep an eye on eBay.

I wrote a bit about the Zapp Xtra a bit further down this list. Just be aware it's really not great in winter, isn't that sturdy and the seat is very exposed. I used a Bugaboo Cocoon to make the seat more snug. It's not a pushchair I would recommend to someone as their main pushchair to be honest as it's niggly and frustrating....

Anyone an opinion on the Quinny Buzz? I'm guessing whatever I pick I'm going to have to put up with a carrycot for a few months which I guess I could stick on the seat. The buzz travel system is really quite expensive new but there are loads on eBay.

The Buzz is massive! And really very crap. It's hard to put up/down (by hard I mean two people standing in a car park for 15 minutes with two screaming babies in winter sort of hard), it's really bulky, you're supposed to change the seat unit at some point although it was way out the door before the seat unit was ever used, the steeering is rubbish. Hope that helps!Wink

It's hard to get a feel for their size online. Think I need to go to a shop. Tempted to buy a sling until I can use a pushchair.

I have a corsa and can fit the MacLarean Quest and it fits perfectly into my boot.

The reason I like the look of the zapp is that it can be parent facing. I'm really struggling to find something that fits my criteria. I've looked at the Bee but I don't really like it.

I have a corsa, and the iCandy peach fits in if you remove the parcel shelf, or one wheel which is v easy (pushchair and chassis). The pram bit doesn't fit in the boot, but is v sturdy - loved it for my feb baby.
Not cheap, but lots on eBay.

The Mothercare Spin is a nice pram, parent facing, light to push. Very cheap on eBay. I can get the whole thing in the boot of a Ford Ka with the parcel shelf taken out. Also has a carrycot option with a separate carrycot, the seat unit turns into it iyswim. It is a two piece fold, but it's pretty easy once you get the hang of it, and it's compatible with the Cabriofix if you did want to use it as a travel system.
