Pushchairs with an upright seat?

Ive admitted defeat-need some advice from the experts lol!

I had lots of pushchairs with DS1 6 years ago and was determined to only have 1 (or possibly 2 with a stroller as well!) this time but Im really struggling with my pushchair so am looking for an alternative!

Basically DS2 is 6 months old (but was 2 months prem so not huge!). We've currently got a Mothercare Spin which I absolutely adore...it's a pleasure to push and really easy to use. However DS is really uncomfortable in the seat unit and literally screams every time I put him in it. He's been in the reclined position for about a month now and been fine but is very nosey and wants to look around but the seat unit doesn't go very upright and he constantly looks slumped which can't be very comfortable.

One of the many pushchairs we had for DS1 was a M&P Pliko which the seat back was completely upright and the foot rest went right up so baby could basically sit at a right angle if that makes sense?

However I need the pushchair to be rear facing and it needs to have 1 handle rather than 2. I don't need a carrycot just the pushchair bit.

So far Ive thought of M&P Sola but reviews are not fantastic,Babystyle Oyster (but seat unit looks quite small and even though he's not big at the moment I want to be able to use it for a long time rearward facing.

Have also seen Maxi Cosi Elea online but can't find any reviews on it and Uppa Baby Vista which looks perfect and exactly what I need but cannot justify spending that much money and there doesn't seem to be any second hand ones.

Anything else which springs to mind with a very upright seat? How upright does a Frog go?

pliko switch?

ihearttc · 22/05/2011 22:55

Thank you!! Yes I did think of that but I really wanted it to have one handle rather than 2...but might have to give it a go and see how easy it is to push.

Britax Vigour
mamas ans papas venezia - basically pliko with flippy handle
bee plus
Streety
loola

Loola Up can go straight, has one handle and is rf

Wow thank you!

Loola is a definite no! I had 1 with DS1 and I hated it...sold it after 2 weeks! I discounted Streety cause I assumed it would push pretty much the same but could look at that one.

We looked at Bee when I was pregnant and DH hated it...he said it looked like dolls pram but I think he'd probably agree with anything at the moment to shut me up lol so we'll definitely look at one again.

Oh venezia sounds ideal...will have a look on e-bay for that and a Britax Vigour.

Sorry paperview...I really can't do a Loola if not that would have been ideal unless they've changed them dramatically over the past few years.

In the mean time you could try putting one or 2 liners in the pushchair to make him less slumped. I've had a similar problem with my Oyster. DD's fine when it's lying back and fine when it's totally upright but in the middle with a bit of recline she looks uncomfortable. I found that using the liner and the back of the footmuff together really helps and she looks much more comfortable. Smile

M and P pliko pramette is very upright and the straps are not joined to the backrest so they can sit bolt upright and pretend to drive the pushchair. Added advantage of being really cheap second hand.
