Seems to do everything? rear-facing, folds, big basket, umbrella handles, toddler step.
What's the downside - is it wide? Heavy?

I love my Infinity but is wide for the bus and crap for shopping...
looking for retro, cheapy rear-facer probably.

Anyone selling a switch or similar?

My sister used to have the pliko (not switch so not rear facing when in pushchair mode). We didn't like it. It was really heavy and long so hard to get in a small boot.

I don't know if the switch is different but her rain cover attached to the end of the hood so the hood fabric was exposed to the rain and got all water marked and horrible.

its a bit heavier than the ordinary pliko and not quite as easy to steer, but otherwise is pretty good. You can take the seat unit off and have a proper carrycot or you can just use the seat unit rear facing with a nest or something for a newborn. Its umberella fold too, so easy for the bus. Not sure if it folds one piece when rear facing though, so maybe not perfect for the bus. I had the original pliko and found it a great all rounder when DS was too old for the double but still needed the ride on step. Fairly light, folds about as small as a maclaren XT.

I have a switch I am selling. I loved it. I was great for going out walking. Folds in two pieces though, rather than one. My favourite part (other than the choice of front and rear facing) was the cup holder. Super handy for a bottle of water.

Hmm... reckon if i could find one for under £40 or so, I could give it a go...
We have three buggies already - eek.
Grownupnow, do you have a link to yours?

Oh, and don't very often fold the maclaren for the bus (though it is nice to have that option)- it's just i'm after something narrower than the infinity (am paranoid about all the looks...!)

Heavy and very difficult to push, I found it made my wrists ache and my son was a newborn then. You can't push and hold a toddler's hand and you can't use toddler step when rear facing.

I had three of these (first hated the colour, had the indigo denim I loved but sold it to get a super cheap one and have pennies left over) Big for the bus, you can fold when RF witht he seat on but it is long and wide.

I think you can easily get one for 120/30, my last one was spotless and was 73 quid but a mac xt would be far far far better if you use buses a lot.

carrielou2007 · 09/05/2011 14:48

You need a bugaboo bee which will do everything!!

Adair · 09/05/2011 14:49

Ahhh, I have a Mac XT. I have a love/hate relationship with it.
I have a INfinity which I love, but as said is crap for shopping. Mostly walk, but it would be nice to get bus without the looks...

Think I will avoid Switch then unless I can get for super cheap (I find Maclaren heavy enough to push Hmm)

I am the same with my xt, brill, robust, comfy, easy to use but more functional and a bit boring Grin

The one good thing about the switch is the shopping basket it excellent and holds tonnes and tonnes!!

Adair · 09/05/2011 15:00

if the xt could rear-face it would be perfect...

If you like the look of Switch, and want cheap retro get a Pliko Venezia. Its umbrella fold, same weight as a Pliko P3 and style. Only the handle bar flips over keeping it a one pice fold.

Down side is it can a little sod take some getting used to steering in rf

a few on ebay all under £50.00

Although Bee is still best for public transport by far, but not cheap Wink

suzie38 · 09/05/2011 21:58

The new Graco fusio is very similar and everyone who's got one, loves it..I'd like to try one but said no more buggies after the Donkey Wink

Honeydragon · 09/05/2011 22:19

Suzie, me too, 'cept I had to stop with Bee Grin

Adair · 10/05/2011 07:06

I looked at Venezia last time I got the buggy bug (when ds1 was 3mths...) but didn't like the wheel thing...

Anyway, have just bought Totoro's Bee so glad to hear positive comments Grin
